The fourth installment of Soul Calibur follows up with some of the best graphics and gameplay this series has to offer. Featuring cameo appearances by Star Wars icons Yoda and Darth Vader, and the newly introduced Secret Apprentice, the cast of fighters is only growing, and expanding on the fighting mechanics, making the gameplay only better.
Although it is more of the same stuff as far as the fighting system goes, thats not to say it gets dull - if anything thats a good thing. For the veterans of the series, nothing new has to be learned, other than the new Soul Crush mechanic, which can lead to extravagent Finishers, making the game more friendly to attacking rather than just defending. The Star Wars fighters have the ability to use force powers, giving them an extra edge in combat, though that can run out quickly but still regenerates through the fight. Armor can now be destroyed, leaving more areas vulnerable during a match, allowing you to exploit the other other combatant.
Character creation is almost more fun than actually playing the game, since you almost always want at least one fighter to call your own, though the fighting styles have to be based on one of the core fighters' styles - and sorry star wars fans, but you can't craft your own jedi - if you want a customized star wars character their appearance and names can't be changed, only their equipment.
Music and Graphics are as superb as they always have been - only getting better with every passing year. Fighting modes extend to having a tower ascension and descension process, expanding on the gameplay some, but not much. Online fighting is made simple, but can sometimes be susceptible to lag or traffic. Downloading content only makes the game that much better.
Aside from some adult themes, most gamers and parents will find the content quite agreeable, although some parts of certain story arcs can be a little bit outside of the grasp of younger players. However, learning how to play is not a challenge at all.
I bought this to play on my windows 7 64 bit computer with ! Terabyte memory .\nI Have not been able to get it to download despite going to the help site & doing what they told me !\nForget the Phone number you will just get a recorded message and as far as getting help from tech. support ,forget it !\nA big rip off in my opinion !!
there is some changes from the last soul calibur but this one has a lot of cool things packed into it. the story mode is a little short 20 chapters but a lot of fun. the creation you get 50 slots and unlock armor along the way also leveling up you can get new characters unlocked like assassin creed brother hoods character. the creation has many things i like about it the weapon you can change the color of the blade, the slash, handle and other part of the item. you get different moveable parts but they are a little tricky to move i had that on a previous game a few years ago but it dose add a lot to your soul. i wish they let us have beards in the creation you know the long beards of old wise warriors. also they give you the choice to change the base color on your cloths to have a pattern to get a two tone or multiple colors. there is some items that are download content that is cool but if you dont take your xbox online those items you cant get like aeons head or a skeleton body. i create souls from my favorite movies, games and anime they are either spot on, better than the original. the graphics are the best i have seen, better facial movement when talking, create your voice having a high pitch or low pitch and different styles.\n\ngraphics 10\nsound 10\ngame play 10\nstory mode 9.5\ncreativity 10\ncharacters 10\ncharacter weapons 10
When you can buy a video game online, pick it up at the store....and wait only a few hours to have it ready why not! I paid 20 bucks for a game that on shelves was around 50 bucks still....Over half off for doing it online...Was great!
The game is great however Walmart is terrible, I will never order anyting from them on-line again. The lost this item and luckily it was still in stock, but delivered later than promised. Their customer service is horrible. I won't even shop in their store anymore.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
FINALLY! This long awaited game has finally came! I have waited since September to get this! And now, I will post a review about this game!\n\nFirst off, let me say this is not Naruto Storm 3. It's more of a Naruto Storm 2.5!\n\nMy parents pre-ordered this game for me since they knew I wanted it. And they put it on two-day shipping, in which it was shipped to me on the 12th. Anyways, I just got this today and it's now the 14th. This was actually a Birthday present for me!\n\nIncluded in this game: *FOR THOSE WHO PRE-ORDERED\n*Game\n*Booklet\n*3 special cards, you can use these to gain special stats in Online Mode in which people who don't pre-order won't be able to get\n\nIncluded in this game:\n*Game\n*Booklet\n\nReview:\nI'm not that far into the game. I just started. But, there are several different story modes to choose from. (i.e: Naruto in Part 1 has his own story, Naruto in Part 2 has his own story) I am starting it in order from Naruto Part 1. So far from what I've played, this game has improved slightly in graphics, and the game play seems a little better then Storm 2. There are indeed a lot of the same things in this game then there was in Storm 2. And that would be things like, the same amount of health bars..and that's it. Well..I shouldn't say that. The Ultimate Jutsu's are still a couple of seconds long, and there are no clashes. BUT, for the Health, yes it is two bars and not more like Storm 1. But they made it so even though there are two tanks of health, it's the same amount of health for Storm 1.\n\nThey also added some pretty cool stuff! First thing, Substitution Bar! That makes it so you don't use your Chakra to substitute. The bar has 4 links to it so you can sub. 4 times. And slowly over time, it regains. And since I play online a lot, it's a better way so you don't end up facing spammers! Another great thing: They added in never before released Anime in the show, over 65 minutes of Original Anime that was never shown on the Anime or Manga! ANOTHER great thing, there are 72 Playable Characters!! Even more, it comes with an Online Tournament to face people worldwide to see who is the best, and there is Survival Mode!\n\nNow, it is indeed a good game. But even a good game comes with the cons. That would be, there is no free roam like Storm 1 or 2. It is basically the Third Hokage narrating through the story. And then it goes straight to battle. And because of this, you can get past other peoples story modes pretty fast, therefor can make this game short. And there are actually 80+ Characters, but 15 of those Characters are Support-Only. Meaning you can't play as them.\n\nAll though this game is short, it's not made for story mode pretty much. Since this is just a game to keep the players busy while they make Storm 3, they say that the story mode is not made for, well story. This game is actually made for the Online Play. Which is great! I love it!\n\nEven though it seems the game is short. It goes from the Land of Waves Arc (Haku and Zabuza), all the way up to the 4th Great Ninja War. And *SPOILER* you can play as Nine Tailed Chakra Mode Naruto! When he masters it!\n\nOverall, this game is GREAT! And you should really buy it if your a fan of Naruto!
The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm games have been notable for their high quality, unusual for a series of licensed games. The fourth game in the series has raised the bar once more, not only is it a great Naruto game, but it's just a great fighting game in general. It's the epitome of easy to learn but difficult to master gameplay. The controls are simple to pick up, and no complicated button mashing for combos. The graphics are amazing, at times it feels like you could be watching the anime itself. There does appear to be some dubbing issues, characters will move their mouths and the audio will be off, but it's nothing too major. The story mode picks up from where the second game left off and follows the story through the Five Kage Summit to the 4th great ninja war arc, though there are some changes to the story. The character availability is insane, from all the Leaf village ninja you know and love to the villains from all the major arcs and even young versions of a few of them. There are also vs. modes that offer different methods of play, from straight up battles between different characters, tournaments, survival mode, and practice. Of course, like the last two games, there is an online mode as well. In short, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is one of the best games I've played, and it's well worth checking out. Fans of the series will love it and non-fans can still have a blast with the game play.
