Very difficult to find shoot-em-up type games for our 13 year old that aren't rated mature. Even harder to find teen rated games he'll play. He loves this game! Teen rating in this one related to language, which is relatively mild in my opinion, and the weapons\/fighting\/violence angle. No blood & gore, extreme close-up violence, just shooting at aliens mostly.
This really is a great game and it shines on the ps3. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I did not like the ending at all and I really could of done without the whole Africa storyline. I wish they would go back to more of the basic stuff and personally I still think resident evil 2 is better. But overall this is still a really good game and a lot of fun, the 2 player mode was a nice add on. The game has a lot to offer and will keep you coming back has it does have high replay value. Is it worth $40. +? Yes.
I like easy, laid-back games that offer a lot of entertainment and fun.\n\nI bought this game for $40, and when I got home to play it, it took me by surprise, and not in a good way. If you're used to good quality games, this game is no where near. It has decent graphics, but the controls are very difficult and strange, and gameplay is terrible.\n\nYou run out of ammo fast, die easily, can barely aim (there isn't even a crosshair), etc.\n\nIt also takes forever to beat even the smallest portion of a mission. I wasted, not spent, wasted an hour trying to beat one part of a beginning mission on AMATEUR (the easiest difficulty).\n\nMaybe I'm not fit for these types of games, most people aren't. I would never recommend this game, because it will waste hours of your time, and only make you upset, over and over again.
Horrible game, the first 10 minutes are a cut scene where every once in awhile you're asked to press a button or two, then into choosing a character for the rest of the game... I made the mistake of choosing the chick with the crossbow and proceeded to fumble with the clunky controls on the first board constantly being reset to the start over and over again for more than an hour. The game is EXTREMELY dark in lighting style, in order to see anything at all you have to turn the brightness setting all of the way up which makes the momentary instances of something bright in the game eg, headlights absolutely blinding. Horrible game, I doubt it will ever again see the light of day, it will be forgotten and will collect dust in it's case until the end of time.
I'll admit, there are some major faults in this game. Some aspects of the game seem to be just flat out lazy, but overall it's a great game. It allows you to dive into the dark and spooky Raccoon City.\n\nThe game is very nostalgic for Resident Evil fans, as you go through all sorts of places that are familiar from the old games. My favorite was the police station.\n\nThe player abilities are very fun, and the teamwork aspect is also fun. Online gameplay is great, and you'll never get tired of killing zombies.
