This is the fourth feature that Will Ferrell and writer-director Adam McKay have collaborated on, and once again they deliver laugh-out-loud if ultimately disposable comedy with mixed messages about arrested male development.
We loved this movie. Funny dialogue and smart fun satire at the cop figures and bad guy money moguls. If you love Will F and Mark W, you will love this movie. So glad I didn't let the bad reviews influence my choice.
recieved my purchase after 10 days.\nopened the box , only 1 dvd with movies V , 666 , and VII , NO II , III; or IV\nnow i have the 1 from an earlier purchase but no 2 3 4 for my collection.\neither going to trash them or buy other dvds from someone else
The acting was absolutely horrible. The graphics were mediocre...\nThey tried to make it more dramatic with the cheesy music.\nCage's lines were mockable and intensely laaame.\n\nDisappointing movie, all around. I wouldn't bother watching this movie again.
It's not surprising, but it's engaging enough that most patrons will likely cut the director some slack for the out-of-period details and convoluted plot contrivances that make the film seem at once sloppy and too neat.
Is redemption possible for this bad lieutenant? At one point, he orders that a dead man be shot again because "his soul is still dancing." If you find God in that line, then welcome to your movie heaven.
