Lugubrious, bumbling and sit-com predictable, Our Idiot Brother has a couple of good ideas, no style, an episodic structure and some charming incidental pleasures, not the least of which are the performances, which are good.
What I liked about the film is that there is a very good cast. I think all the women in the film are terrific actors. |

It's a movie driving in neutral. It never really gets as clever, as emotional or as funny as I wanted it too.
This charmer of a film is one that you will never forget. It's funny, overtly moving and uplifting. I want to see it again |

So, here's the premise: Guy falls in love with a *s e x* doll. Hilarity and baudy humor ensues. Not quite!\n\nThis movie is a love story. It is the love of a brother and his wife, trying to make sense of a troubled brother. It is about the love of a community for someone desperate for love, lonely and detached. And, it is about a small-town doctor with infinite wisdom, caring and love. This film will make you laugh, cry and think (most often simultaneously#.\n\nA wonderful movie that I can guarantee will not be a \"watch-once-and-leave-it-on-the-shelf\" kind of movie. This is a replacement for the DVD that was worn out by myself and the myriad friends who borrowed it and watched it #many, many times).

| Director: | Raymond DeFelitta |

This feature might work better as a television series, but Garcia himself gives the picture some much-needed ballast.
I won't make great claims for Raymond De Felitta's film - it hardly makes them for itself - but I will say this for it: as an ensemble acting workout, it exceeds expectations from the top down. |

The lead performers, the brighter fillips in Daniel Taplitz's screenplay and Marcos Siega's assured direction make this a pleasing item overall.
If actor Ryan Reynolds isn't careful, he's going to parlay his good looks and engaging presence into a full-time job as a game-show host. |
