EA Sports dropped the ball on this one. The gameplay is THE EXACT SAME as NCAA Football '13, except for a few areas where it's worse. There are plenty of problems with throwing the ball, and way too often on a FB Dive play the quarterback will keep the ball for no reason whatsoever(not an option play, trust me) and get tackled for -5 yards. So many less preplay settings(you can't tell your defenders to go for the pick or the tip anymore...that was the absolute key to my pass defense in other ncaa games). Injuries don't reflect reality. There's a complete lack of hustle on no huddle plays, which makes zero sense whatsoever. Holding the right trigger no longer tells your player to sprint. It tells him to quickly accelerate, so if you hold it down, your player gets exhausted after 5 yards and pretty much starts walking. This would be alright if your player actually ran fast without pressing RT. But he doesn't. The worst thing about the gameplay though is the lack of flags. If you want to make a game that really reflects real-life football, you have to make ridiculous penalties and questionable holding calls like real referees do. In this game, you get one flag MAYBE every 3 games or so. Cuz that makes sense, right? And those are just the problems with the in-game play.\nRecruiting is even worse. THERE'S NO PHONE CALLS ANYMORE! Making phone calls and promises to high school players(and subsequently having your players trust you or not) was the absolute coolest things about former NCAA football games. In this game, you just allocate points towards recruits. It's stupid and there's no ability to steal recruits from other schools. You can't schedule activities during the visits anymore either.\nOverall, I give the gameplay itself a 3\/5. It still reflects the beauty of former NCAA football games, but there's many more problems. As far as meeting expectations, it easily gets a 1\/5. It would get a zero if it was possible. This game should have been INCREDIBLE. Instead, it's below mediocre, at best. Super disappointed in EA Sports and the entire NCAA Football franchise. Especially considering this is the last game in the franchise, they should have tried harder to fix bugs. If you are reading this review and thinking about buying this game, DON'T!!! You can buy NCAA Football '13 for half the price and double the quality.
First off, this game (brand new as of 9\/28\/13) is almost $18 cheaper than GameStop! The are lots of courses to play and the graphics are well done. The create your own golfer is excellent as you can play the PGA Tour and move up in the rankings and earn experience points and coins to increase your created player's attributes and skills. You can also play the LPGA Tour. (Women's Tour) There are around an additional 22 downloadable courses. (If you purchase the Historical addition you can get a few of those.) If only, EA Sports had created a \"create your own course\".....
Game has pretty nice graphics, still not as good as NBA2K14 and game play is poor...almost boring. Controls by shooting with a button is not fun..as an example. They had over 2 years to work on this as EA did not release an NBA game last year and this is truly a disappointment. Expected much more. Buy NBA2K14 instead.
FIFA is a classic. This is one game EA has done a good job of not messing with, because it does not need any fancy features. They have been able to keep up with the changing landscape of video games without changing the functionality. Of course, there are updated graphics and content features, but nothing was over-the-top on the updates. Well done, one of my all-time favorite games!
I haven't played a golf video game in a long time, so I decided to pick this one up. I got it for a decent price with my Walmart discount and the game started off great. 5 minutes in, after the tutorial of course, it freezes so ridiculously much that it took me literally over an hour and a half to actually get to a real game of golf and play the whole course. It froze again afterwards. I'm not the only one with this issue, over half of the general discussion board pages, which is 36 out of 60,have this problem. Xbox and ps3. I went through 2 days of tech support until I was told by the \"higher ups\" that it was the hard drive that was the problem. I own over 50 games for my ps3, and not one has ever given me a problem. For EA to throw the blame off and not even try any further to fix it shows me just how much they care and will no longer get any support from me. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. On the other hand, the times it worked the game was pretty awesome. If you must buy it, buy it from Walmart, because if nothing else, you can take it back and get store credit to buy another video game. Only at Walmart can you do that. If I could have gotten my refund and had been able to keep the game I would have used it for target practice(honestly). You have a 50\/50 chance it'll freeze, turn it on and it'll freeze, restart it and it may not. Play 3 hours and upgrade the skills of your golfer, it freezes and then corrupts your save data and you have to start over. If you're reading this, you really have no clue how much disgust I have for this game and company to let something like this to get past quality control.
I bought this game on Walmart.com because the store would not honor the online prices. 4 days later the price dropped by over half... I took my receipt to the store and they did refund me the difference, so I am happy about that... And hubby loves the game. Win win situation!
