This film is nothing like Training Day, which is what makes it great. Not that Training Day wasn't a well done film; who wants to watch the same movie twice?! Buddy cop drama with many moments of comedic relief, gritty cinematography, and numerous tense action scenes. Very well done!
This movie looked great but had poorly written dialogue that steered very far from plot or movie and a climax that was rushed to be put together with many loose ends. Aside from some poor acting my biggest problem was how this movie tried to give you a more realistic documentary film viewing experience but constantly switched to Hollywood. It also had unrealistic excuses for why the cop was allowed to and did carry a video camera around. Then he somehow lived at the end when clearly you watched him get killed. Dont waste your money on this because its very stupid.
Bolstered by Thomas Newman's score, spot-on set design and the brilliant source material, "Revolutionary Road" is a darkly effective portrait of an Eisenhower-era couple who fall tragically short of reaching Camelot.
