Pineapple Express has its fair share of laughs, but it's a fundamentally heartless and unlovable minor work from Team Apatow.

Watching this without having got stoned first is like watching a 3D movie without the special glasses. There are a few moderate laughs (and a nice Jude Law gag) but the full-on gory violence is disconcerting and unfunny.

Land of the Lost is a terrible family film - let's just get that out there - but it is certain to live on as a staple of bleary-eyed uni students' movie nights; sandwiched in-between repeat viewings of The Wall.

The film contains a remarkable level of violence, yet never establishes a tone that would make it seem funny or truly shocking; the jokes flounder in an air of half-hearted spite.

It's entirely ridiculous, but it gallops cheerfully along; everything is carried off with flair and ingenuity.

Good fun.

Obviously the makers of Your Highness are competing with Zack Snyder in the race to see who can waste money fastest and in the most outrageous manner possible.

Undisciplined, unfocused, overimprovised and unevenly acted.

The characters just sit there and talk, and you start to feel you're trapped not at a movie but in a tiny diner somewhere, eavesdropping on a lot of uninteresting conversations.

It's almost funny, or theoretically funny. It's just not actually funny.

From a bunch of minor Judd Apatow protgs, a dispiriting low-budget series of witless, misogynistic sketches masquerading as comedy.
