I needed to refill two footstool \"poofs\" so bought these. As others mention, the individual pellets are much bigger than the ones that typically come inside a bean bag, but (to me, anyway) the size is irrelevant. I was able to refill both footstools fully, and once zipped closed, can't tell any difference in terms of fill type.
100% virgin polystyrene bean is the approximate size of a large pea
What our shoppers say:
Yep, they are bean bag beanies
These seem to be the same as the ones that were originally in the chairs. I'm assuming they will have the same longevity, about 1 - 2 years. I wish there were tags on these chairs to tell you how many cubic feet they hold. We did the calculations ourselves and way over estimated. The boxes that these come in are apporximately 3' x 1' x 1.5'. We have the big joe video lounger floor chairs (see picture below). It took 1 bag to refill 2 chairs that were almost completely flat. Hopefully that will help you figure the amount you need. Refilling is a real pain. I read all the tips from others and still had trouble. Figure on loosing some beads during the refilling process.
I did a lot of research on bean bag chairs and found this one to have the best reviews. I purchased the 3' chair. It came in a rather small box, but was very heavy. It was a bit of a challege to get out of the box and when it came out it looked kind of small and unshapely. I found a paper in the box saying that it will go to its true size in 7-10 days, to fluf it occasionally and that they package it in the smaller box to save on shipping. Well, even after a couple of hours it got bigger. Within a day or 2 they were HUGE and I never even fluffed them!!!! It is soo comfortable! I bought 2 for my 11 year old's room (thank god I didn't get the 6' size!). She loves sitting on them along with her 6 year old sister, 9 year old brother and me and my husband love sitting on them to (he's about 210 pounds and finds it VERY comfortable). I never told him the price of the bean bags, b\/c he'd complain, but once he saw them he didn't care how much they were. Don't spend your money on cheap bean bags!!! These are the best and seem like they will last can keep their shape for years!!!!!!!!
Great for basements, bedrooms, dorm rooms or even the family room
What our shoppers say:
Not what I was expecting
I bought these thinking they would be similar to a regular inexpensive bean bag, but they are so hard as a rock that they are more like an ottoman than a bean bag chair. When I try to sit in it like the girl in the picture, I don't sink in, at all. I'm just sitting on top of it. Maybe with time it get more comfortable? If not though, we are going to put them in the basement and use them as ottomans instead of bean bags. Kind of disappointed.
Great for lounging around. Tough and stain-resistant fabric.
What our shoppers say:
Good quality\/value for price paid.
Have not had it for long, but it seems durable. Our 7 year old son and his friends can throw it around with the \"soccer ball\" bean bag we also purchased. They look good in our game room, and I think they'll last for a long time.
I got mine in Black twill today. I am not happy, I had to wait 3 weeks for this garbage. The zippers were broken and I tried to re-zip cause foam was coming out, the zipper tab then broke. The foam smells. Save your money, its not worth it.
I got this product, set it up and then had to work the next two days. On my day off, I sat in the chair for roughly an hour playing video games and the underside cracked where the base joins it. At that point, you couldn't sit in the chair without it swaying side to side or back and forth, so I had to return it. Terrible quality, only moderately comfortable, but it did have some cool features. Side pockets, a built in drink holder, the speakers and audio controls are all great concepts, but built into a shody chair.
This bean bag is great. It is huge. We purchased for our 10 year old daughter and she loves it. It can easily fit two people. We can't believe how comfortable it is. It is very heavy but can be dragged around to where ever you need to move it. Someone posted that it's small - it is HUGE!! When you get it, it is airpacked and all shriveled up for shipping; however, once you open it and start fluffing it up - it is huge. We have great danes and they want it for their own bed. I would definately recommend. We're thinking of getting a different color one for our living room.
I purchased 2 of these and I'm glad I did. These are extremely comfortable, it almost put me to sleep the first night I sat on it. 2-3 people can fit on one depending on their size. I would highly recommend these to anyone wanting something comfortable and affordable. These are for my tv room and they are a big hit. Give them a few days to fluff up to actual size.
I got this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. When I say it is HUGE, I mean it! You will definietly need the back of an SUV to pick this item up. It will not fit in trunk or back seat of a sedan. I have a 2009 Acura TSX and there was no way! It is super comfortable, it does not have the normal foam beads that normal bean bags have, it is more of a memory foam that flufs back up when you turn it on its side or attempt to move it. You will need a lot of space for this bean bag, moving it and getting it through doors is a bit of chore, but again, it is really comforatble and great to lounge in. I looked around and priced similiar bean bags, most of the ones this size with the memory foam inside go fo close to $200-$300 so this is definitely a great value.
