Charles Bronson, born Charles Dennis Buchinsky, was born one of 15 children in 1921. After receiving a Purple Heart for his service in World War II, he landed his first acting role in the 1951 film You're in the Navy Now. Often cast as a gunfighter or policeman, Bronson is most known for his roles in films such as The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape and The Dirty Dozen. Bronson continued to make movies for almost 50 years, with a career spanning from 1950 to the late 1990s.
