Boogie Nights, an epic tale of porn, pleasure, and excess, offers a purer hit of exhilaration than any movie this year.
Not since the mysteriously reclusive Terrence Malick has there been such an explosion of sheer talent on the American movie scene. |

Nonsense but fun nevertheless with a crazy ensemble cast of celebrities of the era.
Full of terribly inside showbiz jokes and populated by what could be called Burt and Hal's Rat Pack, film takes place in that redneck never-never land where most of the guys are beer-guzzling good ole boys and all the gals are fabulously built tootsies. |

This is one of my favorite movies. Too bad I didn't get to watch it because I got an unviewable disk. I am going to try to exchange it, but I don't have the receipt and this is not a product carried in stores so I don't believe this will be easy.

Each of the four lead performances is exceptional, none more so than Burt Reynolds' beefy, supercilious Lewis.
A sad, brilliant reminder that sometimes people are the most threatening monsters of all. |

Country star Toby Keith makes his acting debut in this rickety heartland drama, which was produced by Country Music Television and panders shamelessly to the traditional-values crowd.
It's obviously intended as a star vehicle, but Broken Bridges turns out to be a rattletrap jalopy for country music performer Toby Keith. |

This is an attractive, talented, most companionable cast.
Doesn't quite achieve its goal, but this overgrown little movie does offer solid laughs, engaging performances and a captivating setting. - New York Post, 2000-01-01 |
