Good serger for the home. I am still trying to get used to using it so i cant say much about it. But i love that i can overlock my garments. It is a bit hard to control the pedal however. If i want to go slow and press the pedal gently it wont really go and i end up going fast. That could be just me who cant control the pedal speed yet though.
I loved this machine when I got it. Worked great for about 6 months. I took it back got a new one and the same thing. I have been through 3 in 4 years. I take very good care of my machine and clean it all the time. It looks like new and everything, but it just stops working. I have taken it to people and they can't find anything, and they can't make it work either. I would not waste my money unless you only want something that will last a few times.
Took it back the next day. Might be okay for a beginner that only wants to do straight stitches. Was not impressed with the buttonhole function at all.
this is real easy to use. it is easy to change bobbins and thread i use it for quilting and to make table runners and placemats.\n\nthe above review was made by my son in law. the machine was a gift to him as he wore out our old machine. his sewing has improved by leaps since he started using this machine. this is not a cheapie machine. it is a good in-between machine. one i think i may get when my spendy machine dies.
I bought this CP7500 machine based on the other Walmart reviews. The LED light could be better, but I knew that when I bought it. I've just added a clip on light on a shelf that points to the machine to compensate. I found it works great! No problems. The machine comes with the optional accessories (except the 1\/4 inch quilt foot) that if you bought it straight from brother wouldn't come with them. I did buy (from ebay) another 1\/4 inch quilt foot as my main purpose for the machine was to quilt. I have checked with Brother & they will cover the warranty as another review said it wouldn't. For the price, it's great!
Just been using it for a week or so now. It's so smooth and quiet...doesn't shake the table like my old machine did. I love, love, love the automatic buttonhole function and all the finishing stitches it has. Still trying to get used to the location of the reverse stitch button (kind of like looking for the clutch when you've just switched to an automatic transmission) but I'm getting the hang of it. I'll be able to do way more with this machine than my old one (the old one is a Brother, too and it still goes like a champ). Very exciting!

Surprised by it's abilities
I have a Janome MC10000 and spent thousands of dollars on that machine, long story short I was having issues with the bobbin and needed to finish a project for my son, went to Walmart, purchased this machine because it had the stiches I needed, came home, pulled it out of the box, started my project.... and let me tell you, the stiching quality was great, after using Janome for so many years I am spoiled but I was surprised at what this little machine can do, it has most of my Janome basic functions, the embroidery of the letters compares to my Janome... I'm keeping it as my backup sewing machine. It is affordable, easy to thread and use IF you watch the DVD first :) very, very happy with my purchase.\n\nIt sews several leyers of fabric with ease, the LCD display tells you which foot to use depending on the stich you are selecting. Lenght and width are very easy to adjust. The construction overall is well made, it is plastic... so I would be careful with it, my Janome is all metal and can stand a lot... this one I am not sure just yet.... but the part where the computer sits is made out of a stronger material, so that is good. This machine is a good startup machine that will grow with your sewing skills..... Give it lots of TLC, enjoy
I'm 28 years old and a true beginner (as in, I'd heard of a bobbin, but didn't know what it was). The instructions were a little hard to follow since I didn't know any of the vocabulary, but after a few online video tutorials, I feel like a pro. This machine is fantastic! I'm making all kinds of pillows and curtains just a few days in, and looking forward to many more projects. Definitely a great investment!

Great machine for anyone
I especially love the threader. Getting older & having trouble threading a needle, this machine almost does it for me. It wasn't hard to figure out how to operate any part of this machine, with experience & the easy to follow manual. Ordering this online was easy, inexpensive & I didn't have to wail too long to get it. Overall, a great experience
I love my new Brother SE400. The machine is very easy to use right out of the box, and the instruction manuals are also easy to use. There is also a cd that visually explains anything you might have a problem understanding.\nI have used Brother sewing machines before and truly enjoy them.
Built-in stitches each with multiple stitch functions
Perfect for basic sewing, mending, crafting & scrapbooking

Wow..great machine.
I decided to learn how to sew about 6 months ago. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a machine..in case it didn't work out. So, after reading a TON of reviews on this site and a few others, I choose this machine. And boy, am I glad I did!\n\nIt's SUPER easy to use. The manual explains everything and even helps you trouble shoot any little problems you might run into (although, I've only had one..the bobbin kept popping out...turns out, I put it in wrong)\n\nIt's easy to thread, easy to load the bobbin, easy to change bobbins, and easy to switch stitches. Stitch number 5 is great for finishing edges, the biggest on 6 is great for hand ruffling items and the automatic button holer is AMAZING. It's super simple to use.\n\nI have made dresses and skirts and hairbows...and it's had NO problem with satins, cottons, linens or multiple layers! I sewed through 5 layers of satin the other day and it had NO problem with it at all!\n\nI love this little machine and use it almost everyday. You can't beat the price. My friends have bought machine twice as expensive and their's can't do anything more than what mine can. So why spend more?

terrible machine
i would not recommend this machine to anyone, even my worst enemy. every single time i use it i bust a needle because the thread binds up or the bobbin pops off or the some other random reason. i can not tell you how many times i have thrown this machine off my sewing table because out of the blue it just stops working. this machine was so awful ill never purchase another brother product again!!!!!!!!

Great Buy and Excellent Quality
I purchased this model after ALOT of research. I truthfully didn't want a Brother's machine. I currently own a White, but they are no longer in business. I also purchased and returned a Singer Superb. I felt the singer was cheaply made. The reviews on this machine are what convinced me. I also read reviews from HSN network for this machine, and it was customer pick of their machines. This machine is $100.00 cheaper through Walmart than anywhere else, yet you still get all 13 feet, leg lift, and a hard case to protect it. If you would like to upgrade to a better sewing machine with more features, this one is it!

What our shoppers say:
a must -have for embroidery machines
I have an embroidery machine that I use ALOT. I download many many designs off the Internet. My machine uses this memory card system or can be connected to a computer. I prefer the memory card and already owned one. I wanted a second one but found the $350 cost for just the card out of reach. Then I realized I could get another PED system, which included the memory card, for less than 1\/3 the price. And I have a back up reader now, as well. Excellent value, great product.

Great Product
This was the right case for my sewing machine. It is strong and reliable, and I'm glad I chose it. I think the pricing was reasonable, too.
