The emotional elevation of the film is due in no small measure to the extraordinarily engaging performances of Anne Bancroft as the wife-mother-mistress, Dustin Hoffman as the lumbering Lancelot, and Katherine Ross as his fair Elaine.
I have seen and I enjoy Mel Brooks' Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Young Frankenstein movies, but Dracula did not entertain me. While the other movies have good, albeit simple, plots to fall back on in case the humor fails, Dracula has a weak plot line, and the humor was not there for me. Try it if you want to, but do not expect another classic like Brooks' other movies. I recommend you see the other movies I mentioned before seeing this one. Blazing Saddles is also supposed to be good, but I have not seen it yet.
It's a great little animation for us kids of any age and as we look back at the story we can relate to the ant about not being a follower but being a leader when it's our time. but it a great buy and the free site to store is great.
