This is the 3rd size Galaxy player I have ordered for my grandkids. The 5. is a little bigger than they would have liked, but they have quit making the 3.6, and 4.2. I don't like the fact that this 5.'s back doesn't come off, so you can't replace the battery if it goes bad. These galaxy players are great for kids, if you want them to have all the capabilities of a smart phone without having to pay a monthly fee. They have found apps to make calls, and they have e-mail, facebook, and can text with these as well as play games, and oh yes, they also play music!
At first I was using windows media player to move files over, and then I also tried rhapsody. Because of the different types of extension\/media files formats (i.e, mp3, wma\/4, aac), not all songs were being transferred successfully using windows media player so I went with rhapsody. The only setback was that with using rhapsody to transfer files over, you cannot view the files that have already been transferred by looking directly on rhapsody because there is no music folder to click on. I had to point that out because this is part of the initial loading and takes a long time. I had about 900 songs to move over and the file transfer, at one point started saying \"....about 10 days and 9 hours remaining.\" The other setback is that there is only one playlist that you can manipulate and it can only be done through the device itself. You cannot transfer the playlist from rhapsody or WM player. If you do try, which I did, it will only transfer a duplicate copy of the songs outside of the original song's folder separately into the device, but the playlist itself will not exist. File transfer is easy, but lengthy. This mp3 player is not for people who like to keep up with technology. If you think you maybe saving money here, then let me remind you that you get what you pay for. I had a Zune and an iPod nano, and this was a HUGE step-down. This mp3 player is really just for basic song playback; simple and maybe even dry for the tech savvy. My actual recommendation is really a big \"maybe\".
great sound, great product only drawback its difficult to turn off. the option button doubles as the on\/off and hold button and sometimes it takes awhile of pushing the option button before the player goes off.
I had this for a week now and I like it for the most part. It was easy to set up and sounds great. The thing that I don't like is the touch screen does not work that great to scroll to find your music and when you try to find an album and its not the one you want you hit the back button and it starts from the beginning not from when you left off so you have to start all over again. I have not down loaded any videos so I don't know how they look. I also don't like the fact that there is not cover for it so I it does not get scratched. For the price is a good Media Player..
