Used for my first camp out with my two boys. I would not try to fit any more in the tent than 2 adults or an adult and 2 children. Excellent sze tent for the money!!!!
Construction: 190T coated polyester, steel and fiberglass
What our shoppers say:
Very Nice
This tent is very easy to set and take down. Seems like it will also be a very sturdy tent for thunderstorms. I would feel at ease if a heavy thunderstorm blew threw sleeping in this. Oh Yea! I would also recommend getting the ozark trail instacot. It is well built and very comfortable.
First off, let me say this is a great tent and you won't be disappointed. I used this tent on a group cross country trip from the East Coast as far west as Wyoming. It was set up and taken down in multiple campsites and survived sand, roots, dirt, storms, heat, and freezing temperatures.\n\nSet-up: Can be done in as little as five minutes once you get a rhythm going. It's much easier to do with two people as with any tent. Make sure to secure the guy lines on your fly for extra security.\n\nRain: The rain fly does great at keeping the tent dry even in heavy storms. When the guy lines are secured it keeps it even tighter against the tent itself. In my experience, the tent also does not gather any condensation inside.\n\nSize: I'm 5'4\" and can stand up in the middle. I camped with my 6'3\" boyfriend and he was able to lie down comfortably without being cramped. If you're much taller than that though, you may want to look for a bigger tent.\n\nThe tent is too big and heavy (in my opinion) to take backpacking. It's heavy and I would find it too bulky.\n\nIt is possible to get the tent back in the original bag. It takes some technique, but its definitely possible.\n\nOverall, go for it! You won't regret it. :)
This tent only lasted six months because the materials and workmanship are shoddy. The front of the polyethylene floor disintegrated and shredded (this is cheap plastic tarp material like you see at the auto parts store). The nylon at the door ripped in several places and when it rains water gets in the front and sides of the tent. Coleman does NOT stand by their warranty and says it does not cover UV damage to the tent. This tent is only good for the once-a-year camper; our "serious" tent is going strong and the Coleman tent is trash. I will never buy a cheap tent again. You get what you pay for.
It doesn't get any easier than this. Works well. Held up to breezes in the 15-20 range. Light to moderate rain didn't come in, except when you open the flap to get in or out. Get the next size up for comfort if you will be using a queen air bed. It's great for simple, fair weather camping. You can't beat it.
Setup and take down were just as easy as advertised for the tent itself but then you need to put the rainfly on and that takes twice as long the tent setup, but compared to my old tent I have no problem with that at all. After 24 hours of moderate rain only small leaks between poly floor and nylon side seams appeared. no leaks around roof or around windows but I did see some condensation on floor until I put a tarp under the tent after that no condensation at all. Overall I am very satisfied I just wish it had a mesh canopy inside to add some additional storage for gear. The 2 side pockets are nice but an overhead system would add a lot of functionality and give the tent more of a finish.
It seemed like a decent tent on the site. But when I got it, I found it was way to thin. For the price you are better off getting a Coleman or REI basics.
I was skepticle about buying this tent since I couldn't find any product rating about it and I really wasn't sure about the Texsport brand but I couldn't be more happy with this tent. The first time using it my wife and I were caught in a freak storm with 50 mile an hour winds, lightning and thunder, and unbelievable rainfall (an inch an hour). The storm lasted almost five hours and destroyed most of the tents and canopys in the camp ground. The Texsport Lazy River tent came through unscathed. Only a few drops of rain made it in the tent but only because the high winds blew it under the rainfly. Thanks Texsport for a super product!!!
Roomy tent with good vestibule. Very heavy for hiking. Quality is good, but not great. We have about 10 of these in our Scout Troop and in the first year we've had a couple of zipper issues and multiple holes in the floor. Zipper issue are quality based, which Coleman customer support was great. Holes in the floor were inexperienced Scouts.
