I was excited to get this camera. It sounded like it was exactly what I wanted. But it would not charge or the \"on\" button would not work. Not sure exactly what the problem was, but we could not get it to power up.
This \"water proof\" camera broke after one trip to the beach. I had the camera in my board short pocket while I paddle boarded. The only time the camera was actually under water was while I walked the board out to get on it. The battery dropped rapidly and it went out completely. I sent it into Sony to fix it since I had only had it for one month. They called and told me that there was internal damage and it was my fault. They sent the defective unit back to me. I spoke with multiple people in customer service department and they all said there's nothing they can do. If you can't take a water proof camera to paddle boarding, it's not waterproof! Do not purchase this product. Terrible product and even worse customer service. I'm never purchasing anything Sony after this encounter.
I bought the camera little over year and happy with the camera. Takes great pictures especially when i have it on soft skin mode. Makes you look picture perfect. Great HD videos. Also takes great pictures of my pets, which is a plus. The only bad thing about the camera is the battery life. Very little usage and already shows low battery or low battery then full battery. I still recommend this camera.
Camera NOT shock resistant to 5'. My was dropped around 2'. Camera continued to work fine, but later while swimming, tried to turn on camera, but it would not respond. Sent in for warranty work and was told there was corrosion inside and could not be repaired. When asked about a replacement, was told; \"Due to visible damage to outside, replacement will not be given\".
