Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

The first Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tablet was very awesome but with the old Android OS it soon became a thing in the past. I just purchased the Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 Tablet and its way much better than the first one! It's OS is up to date except it's not Jellybean but it's close enough! Super Fast! Speakers: instead of being on the sides of the tablet they are on the front and make a big difference in sound quality on the Galaxy 2 than the 1st one! The memory can be upgraded by the user up to 32GB Micro SDHC memory card! Doesn't have a HDMI port, that would've been nice since I recently upgraded my TV to HDTV. Being able to control my tv with this tablet is awesome also! The only downside to this Galaxy 2 10.1 is that the camera is still 3 megap...

Poorly put together for presentations

I purchased the Galaxy 10.1 16 gig wi-fi for use in presentations to clients. If this is the purpose you want it, do NOT purchase it! It has 5 individual screens which is nice HOWEVER if you putting a clients logo on the tablet it stretches all the way across the 5 individual screens which is not wanted. The wallpaper should be on each individual screen, the full logo. It looks ridiculous that only 1/5 of their logo is on the screen your presenting to them. Another bad point is you can NOT put a video file on the screen and just tap it and play it for the client, you must use "my files" or "quick office" to see the video(s) you would like to show your client. Talk about a waste of time. So if you like clicking widgets and not have anywhere...

    Best dual-core tablet out there

Great job by Samsung! Great value for such an awesome product! Nothing wrong except for the all plastic design (still durable, but not as nice feeling as metal (maybe a polycarbonate design would make me feel safer with it). Still the best (in my Android world) out there!

A Review for the Over 50 Folks Like Me :-)

I was nervous about getting yet another tech object that would take a Rocket Scientist to use. However, due to my little on line business I felt I needed something else instead of being tied to a desktop. And the laptop I purchased, my husband took over. In any event, I can't tell you how pleased I am with this tablet! First, it's so easy to set up. Second, everything is so User friendly. No problem in getting my gmail account set up, the apps I need for my business, etc.! I also am able to use Brighthouse (our cable carrier) and get tons of TV channels. The other thing I am in love about is when I watch TV or a movie on it, I don't need my reading glasses. The picture is so vivid and bright! This is seriously a great tablet that I would re...

What iPad? This Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is a great tablet & for me a great purchase. It has many of the same functionalities of an iPad and meets all of my needs. I purchased a 32GB SD card (which we all know isn't possible to use on an iPad) and now my 16GB Samsung Tablet is now 48GB! You can't beat that with a bat! If you're someone who cares about tablet cameras, pixels & product design, (I don't) then perhaps you're better suited to shop with Apple. I use this tablet everday, multiple times a day, the screen clarity, speed & functionality are all GREAT, I have no complaints! My tech savvy college aged daughter loves it too, so much so, she is purchasing one for herself. She says it'll be a great alternative to taking her laptop to class; i...

    Great tablet.

If you are an Android user this is the tablet to get. Can't beat it for the money. Get the Samsung book cover case & the USB/SD card adapters to complete the package. Was seriously considering an iPad but am glad I went with the Samsung. A lot less costly also.

    User friendly

I find the layout of the Tab 2 to be excellent. The settings are east to find and set up. Performance is excellent. Did side by side comparison to the Ipad and the Tab 2 was better in so many ways! Ipad used that helped with the comparison bought a Tab 2.

    Well done!

As a Galaxy SII mobile phone user, I already had a good opinion about Samsung. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 continues that great experience. While there are more feature rich tabs out there, this one does what it says very well and is several hundreds less than than a certain iconic brand. Is there room for growth? Certainly! Will this do the job very nicely? No doubt!

    Made the right choice

Initially, when friends found out I'd bought the Galaxy 10.1, they didn't hesitate in telling me what a great product it was. One of them friends is an IT manager and he let me know that it was the very best choice in tablets and he was getting one. Another friend is purchasing one this week because I took it on vacation with us and it was absolutely invaluable in helping us navigate our way around the island. At first I purchased the 7.0 but found it a little small for how I was going to use it. I returned it and bought the 10.1 and it is just perfect. Some reviewers said they were hoping for a better camera but it is okay with me. It was all I needed for the trip. I also like the many apps that come with it and also the choices for ones w...

    Samsung Galaxy 10.1

I'm so in love with this tablet. All around this if the thinest tab on the market right now. And as long as you have a strong wifi signal it's really fast. My only real issues on this tab are mostly diesign flaws. I believe the product was made to fast and the quality suffered for it. I read about the screen poping up issues where dust and moister get under the screen. I have had mine for 6 days and i can already see and feel one of the screen corners poping up out of place. My other issues are the lack of an sd slot or hdmi plug. Also i don't understand why the europen model 10.1v has a 5mg pixle camera on front and an 8megapixle on back but the us modle10.1 have a 2 and 3 megapixle camera?other than that this is a great tablet.

Good tablet. Great deal in price range.

Had wonderful experience with samsung galaxy s 3 phone and now with this samsung tablet. Great tablet in the price range. Previously had bought a 10.1 ' tablet for 199.000 of another lesser brand but returned it because of slow speed and not so clear resolution. This Is A GOOD Tablet

    Huge bang for your bucks.

This Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 is fantastic and worth every penny I invested. Having had a 7" tablet, I found it too small to do web browsing with, though it traveled nicely. I also write a bit and it became an eyestrain. Now that I've played with the big boy, I am discovering what reviewers are saying about the Samsung guality and all that goes with it. Besides a bright screen, 12+hour battery life, light weight, non-overheating body and well placed controls, the apps it came with handles everything I need to have a great experience. I have added a few, SwiftKey being one, but found myself removing some I added because I hadn't familiarized myself with the apps already there. The mini sdhd slot holds a lot of movies and videos for those "n...

    Good value

The tablet is a great value, the screen has a great display and quick processer and works great for what I need. The cons are Samsung and the proprietary connector and Kies for data transfer. Be prepared to purchase extras like a usb connector, a longer data/charging cable, hdmi adapter, sd card, case with keyboard (avoid Kensington) stylus, etc, etc... You will quickly get to $500 invested. It is still a good deal compared to the alternatives but I would probably have gone with a higher spec model (note 10.1) or an off brand budget tablet, but I have no regrets with my purchase of the Tab 2 for what I currently need.

    Pleased with this purchase

I'm still learning how to use this tablet to suit my needs/wants. It has great reviews in Consumer's Reports. Since Kindle is one of the programs available on this tablet, my husband will be interested in downloading books. He has cataracts and he found the size of the print available is to his liking. I've watched several movies available through Crackle (another avail. program). This has been an enjoyable learning experience. I'm almost 69 years old and it takes a bit longer to get the hang of new 'stuff'. I think it was worthwhile to acquire the 10.1" screen instead of the 7". I think you'd find the larger screen to your advantage.

We purchased this tablet for our 8 year old daughter for Christmas. I have an Acer Iconia tablet and want to steal this tablet for myself. As of yet we have had none of the problems I have seen described in previous reviews. My daughter uses the tablet for games and video chat along with playing music. The speakers and sound quality are great! Very nice tablet for the price!

Nice little tablet with a ton of features.

Nice little tablet with a ton of features and apps. This is my first tablet and I am just starting to get proficient with it. Great for streaming movies and as a music player. Super fast for checking email compared to a PC. I had it lock up once, read the manual, and after a long hold of the power button it was up again and hasnt failed since. Touchscreen is pretty accurate and I have working man hands, touch keyboard works well too. I got it on sale for around $275 and it is a great value for that price. Super easy to set up wireless when travelling.

    Excellent tablet!

This was a gift for my husband. He is still discovering things this tablet can do. One amazing discovery was the ability to control our TV, Dish, Blu-ray all from his tablet. He has been enjoying it. I chose it because he already has their smart phone. I call them the "now-it-alls!" It was great that I could order it online, with special financing options through Bill Me Later, then pick it up a couple of hours later in the local store!

    Versatile

First tryout was during a recent family vacation where we got to explore its media capabilities by taking action, portrait and scenery photos and videos. It is just great. At home is as versatile as well browsing through the news and webpages. I have just begining to use its office productivities suite and it seems great at the first try.

The main reason I did not give it 5 stars was when open it for Christmas the tablet was bad. All the colors were neon green or orange. I called Samsung and they said it probably was something inside loose. Send it in and wait for 2-3 weeks for return. I do not think so. This is a brand new unit. I returned it to Wal-Mart with receipt and got another one with no questions ask. Let Wal-Mart deal with those problem techs at Samsung. New Tablet so far has work flawless without a hitch.

    Superb!!!

I was undecided if I wanted to get this instead of the Ipad. But I checked around and even though the Ipad has some good reviews, I still liked the things I read about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. I can view files in pdf, the O/S is fast, the picture and sounds crystal clear. I like the color and design. And the greatest thing is that by using the Kies air apps on my Samsung phone, i can share my phone's wi-fi with my tablet and I have internet anytime, anywhere!!! I think it's this tablet can seriously compete and be on the same level as the Ipad. Also you can get apps from the google playstore and its free. The only thing I hate is looking for accessories at Walmart, there's not much to choose from at the store, I have to check online. All t...
