- 5 out of 5 stars review1/3/2020This book is solid. Used these guidelines successfully with both my kids. It is initially difficult, and some may say "neglect", but neglect is not realizing the importance of rest to both Momma and Baby. It is the best gift you can give and receive for health. Enabling your baby to sleep on their own [self soothing], is a gift that will give for a lifetime.
Sleep is essential for a health

- 5 out of 5 stars review12/20/2017What a great resource for new parents! Getting your child into a routine helps not only the baby, but the family as a whole. This approach is simple and it WORKS! We have used it for more than one child, and it has worked amazingly well.
Exceeded my expectations!
Erica - 5 out of 5 stars review6/24/2014This author is amazing. And to know he has been a Pediatrician for 26 years gives me every vote of confidence. Both our babies loved having the care and consistency of a routine that they could count on. I see that 6 million homes are now enjoying these great methods in helping our infants. I read the article on Babywisebooks.com (the babywise method) that displays beautifully how the leading 5 experts/doctors on these topics of feeding/sleeping have written books and how Babywise was first to the market with its principles back to 1984. I am a believer and so are many of my friends. It also helped me greatly to see that the AAP recommends feeding babies 8-12 times per day and the Babywise methods is exactly within that range. happiestparent - 5 out of 5 stars review9/18/2012This book is a life saver. It was recommended to me by a friend who's baby sleeps through the night. This book gives a realistic approach to baby sleep and feeding schedules. It outlines schedules at each age. The approach uses a combination of demand and schedule feeding which allows baby and parents to get much needed rest for all to stay healthy and happy!
Must Buy Book for Parents of Infants
JandLsMommy - 5 out of 5 stars review12/20/2017The sleep-training techniques presented in this book worked wonders for all three of my children. I truly believe that babies thrive on routines. We are creatures of habit, and so are our they. I personally didn't feel like I could understand my baby's needs by "mother's intuition" alone, so Babywise gave me a guideline to help keep my sanity and better understand the needs of my child. We have three wonderful sleepers, and we are often asked how we got them to be consistent with their naps and bedtimes. Babywise is always my recommendation!
Great read for first-time and seasoned parents!
Erica - 5 out of 5 stars review12/30/2017This book was a huge help for me and my baby. The principles are easy to implement and I truly believe it set me up for success in getting my newborn into a routine that we both appreciated. Will definitely use in the future if we have more children!j1xusa
- 5 out of 5 stars review1/26/2020I have applied the schedule feeding and nap for all three of my children. I am grateful for the recommendations. Every child is different so be flexible and remember mom's know their babies best. Since my children are grown now and waiting for grandbabies, this book was a lifesaver with great recommendations.

Nick - 1 out of 5 stars review11/21/2019Youâll lose your supply and dehydrate your baby! This book is extremely concerning especially for breastfeeding success! This will cause early weaning and possibly low weight gain and constipation due to dehydration. Itâs cruel to force too much structure. Some subtle structure bit by bit can be helpful for mothers sanity and babyâs developement as well as bonds between husband and wife however this book takes it to dangerous extremes! Beware and be careful! Follow your gut and intuition.

Family - 5 out of 5 stars review12/16/2018My best friend told me I had to try Babywise. She could tell I was pretty tired. What a gift to our family. In less than 2 weeks, he is on the schedule and sleeping through the night. I read a bad review that was pretty negative, but my experience was the opposite. The author repeatedly says to feed your baby if he is hungry. It is such a gentle program. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
This book was better than my friend said

ljj2013 - 5 out of 5 stars review1/7/2018Nighttime sleep IS a gift, and so is a consistent routine for sleep during the day. This book will help your baby achieve both. Highly recommend!
A must-read for parents
Jo - 5 out of 5 stars review6/4/2019This book is seriously a life-saver. I used it for all 3 of my children, and it worked wonders. It lays out a routine that you can use to help better understand your baby's cues...because let's face it, we don't always know what they want.
A Life Saver!
Erica - 1 out of 5 stars review3/13/2021I can't believe this book is still around. It teaches neglect and should be pulled from the shelves. Babies need you when they need you, not on some man made time schedule. Just awful advice for physiological harm.
Awful!
Paul - 1 out of 5 stars review6/4/2019Our pediatrician told me to throw this book in the trash, after a friend gave it to me. She says it's a physiological nightmare for newborn infants and has seen many become dehydrated, sick, and distressed to the point they developed feeding problems because of this book. Once you begin reading it, you'll understand why. She acquainted the approach to abuse, and many other parents I've discussed it with agree. You're forcing your child into learned helplessness, and so of course they will stop crying for more food after after you implement systematic deprivation. It's exactly like the infants in orphanages who are ignored. The fact that it's supposedly Christian-based makes it even more damaging. The reader is supposed to believe it's their...
This book advocates infant neglect.
