- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase4/20/2013I bought this to plink in the backyard. This is a great little gun for that, it would also be nice for varmint control for say up to 30 yards, maybe more. I have only used it as a pellet gun, no BBs but it does take BBs also - more control with a pellet. It is quite enough for backyard use. 2-3 pumps is more than enough for indoors, 4-6 pumps for out door plinking, and 10 pumps for game & varmints. The scope is workable and good for the price but it would never hurt to upgrade in the long term. It's favorite pellets are the Crosman hollow points and pointed rounds. It's least favorite are the Destroyers. At 10 pumps it will put a hollow point into a 1/2" piece of plywood and will poke out the back end. I would say this is NOT a kids gun un...
Great rifle for a Great price
ratled - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase11/11/2012I had this same air rifle as as a kid and loved it. Back then it did not Come with a scope which makes It way eaiser to see and hit your Target. It will place 1" grouping with Pellets at 60' maybe more. Strong Enough for small game with ten Pumps fun for targets with three Pumps. Less than 50.00 really don't Waste your time on the others.
Shoots straight, Hits hard, Scope is nice.
BigTime004 - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase9/3/2013Still going through break in period. So far everything is good. BB's are easier to load than the pellets. The BB's are sort of self loading, magnetically, but the lead pellets are a challenge to orient correctly, front to front, especially if you have large/fat fingers.QXBV
- 5 out of 5 stars review10/2/2013First off: to get optimal accuracy get a laser boresight and zero in the scope at 25 yards to really get the accuracy and power of this rife to work for you. I purchased this at a local walmart for the purpose of dispatching pigeons at my mothers house (she just got a new roof after Sandy and there are more flying rats ruining the new shingles and skylight than you can count) and i wanted something inexpensive i could just leave there for when i visit. Using standard pointed hunting pellets with 4-5 pumps i have humanely taken 6 pigeons at a distance of 60 to 75 feet. *they dropped like rocks* It is a VERY accurate pellet gun....BB's are all over the place do not even bother using them.

TheIrishWeaver - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase12/27/2013I bought this to teach my 9 year old son to target shoot. I took it outisde and sighted in the scope from 25 feet. I was amazed at the accuracy of the pellet gun. It also has a rifled barrel which makes a huge difference with accuracy. My 9 year old had never shot before. He took five shots standing with no rifle rest and got 2 bullseyes and 1 below the bullseye and 2 shots about 6 inches off bullseye. He was really excited. This pellet gun got him off of his tablet and ps3 for most of the day. We later stepped it up and starting shooting fom 50 feet out and this gun was still very accurate. This review was written after 1 day of use. I cant comment on how reliable this gun will be in the long run. We put about 200 rounds through it today ...
Awesome pellet gun
Walnut777 - 5 out of 5 stars review6/30/2021Oh boy this thing has power. Over the weekend I attempted to shoot a beer can out of my cousin in law's hand. Long story short with one copper bb and 3-4 pumps, the bb went all the way through the beer can, and right into his hand! Luckily it didn't go all the way through and it missed all important veins and tendons so he's okay. But yeah always remember gun safety.Cameron
- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase1/3/2013I bought this for my 6 year old son for Christmas, I am so glad I did more research and bought this model instead of the Red Ryder. This gun is powerful at 10 pumps and will still pierce a target with 1 pump. The scope is ok, not much to hang your hat on here. We have shot 200 rounds through it and sited it in. I highly recommend this air rifle for the price. I may get another one for myself.
Great Air Rifle
HighlandVa - 5 out of 5 stars review4/27/2012i had this bb gun for about 9years i lost it one year buried in the dirt and found it cleaned it off and still shot like brand new.. i see why they still sale it after all these years. im amazed at this model how it still works so great
the best
bigtippaWalmart Associate - 3 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase8/20/2013The air rifle is advertised both at Walmart, and on the box as 800 FPS (Feet Per Second). However, the owners manual and all online sources place it closer to only 725FPS.. a pretty significant reduction. The air rifle itself is a great little model... but it is most certainly not what is advertised by Walmart nor by Daisy. I do not understand Daisy rating this air rifle on the box at 800 FPS, then recanting that on the manual.
Not as advertised
AlfarKynwulf - 2 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase10/18/2014I bought this air rifle to replace a Crossman that I dropped on the concrete floor once too many times. The web site indicated that people who bought the rifle also bought clips for the rifle. THis rifle does not use clips. Others who reviewed say that the best way to load pellets into it is using a tweezers - really??? Another review describes a man taking the rifle apart and bending the barrel manually in order to straighten it, and thus be able to sight it in. Pay a little more to get a better product elsewhere.
Not a good air rifle for the money
- 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase9/6/2014A friend let me borrow his, so I had to get one of my own. This gun is excellent quality for the price, accurate and comfortable to use. Another great feature is that it is relatively quiet, so you won't disturb the neighbors.
Terrific Air Rifle for the price
zap7 - 4 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase5/1/2013I purchased the BB rifle for several reasons, one was to have an inexpensive way to practice my aim. With ammo being more and more expensive, and soon to be rare to find, I'd rather not waste any on my lousy aim. The air rifle shoots well and the aim, with some minor adjustments is spot on. (I had someone who could shoot try it out and make the adjustments for me) The scope though, on the other hand is useless. No manor of adjusting (see expert mention) was able to correct the off site aim of it. So I shoot without it. Overall, it serves its intended purpose and I am enjoying being able to practice at will and not spend a fortune on wasted ammo.
Inexpensive shooting practice rifle
QuickEyeMcgraw - 2 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase6/2/2014Although the gun shots okay the sight is way off. After spending hours (at least 7 hours), the sight still is way off. It shots to the right and down by at least one half inch off. I used the same amount of pumps to sight it in as well as the same amount of feet to the target (about 20 feet away). I would not ever purchase again for an adult or a child.
Sight is way off
rider575 - 5 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase10/19/2014This Daisy Air Rifle was a wonderful bargain especially with the scope in the package. Took a little time to sight in the scope, but that was enjoyable in the confines of my basement. All in all shoots very accurately and is quite easy to pump. With 10 pumps it has power! Recommend highly.
Wonderful bargain.
greyknife - 4 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase4/23/2014This is my second Powerline 880 Air Rifle. The first gave up the ghost a couple weeks ago and I wanted to replace it with the same model. With the exception of the scope, which I could NOT get to focus properly, it is a fun and easily operated rifle. It can be used at many different power levels depending on your requirements and is fun for targets or varmints. The dual use of either pellets or BBs makes it even more versatile.
Very nice air gun
ERcowboy - 4 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase2/1/2014Rifle is as described. Nice gun for small animal control. Next time, would skip the scope (unless your a kid, then it's kuel) and go with the model with the fiber optic front sight...only shot it a few times, so this could change later, but for now, it was a great deal...
Nice starter rifle for mature child...
begoodorbegone - 1 out of 5 stars review2/8/2017I've shot this gun quite a bit off and on, only shooting pellets, roughly 150+ shots so far. This gun is incapable of shooting accurately! Just today, I sat and shot about 30 pellets, same type, and in a 6" circle, this gun shoots all over the place. One shot is 1" right, next shot is 4" left high, 3rd shot is 3" right low, next shot is off the target, next shot is center low 2" and so on (all without adjusting the scope) This purchase has a scope, which is impossible to zero the gun with because the gun shoots all over the place. The only time I can shoot a squirrel is if it lets me shoot at it 10 times without it moving and I get a lucky shot in because of the horrible shot pattern this gun produces. I think maybe this gun has some issue...
Completely innacurate
boatmagic - 4 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchase8/22/2014Very accurate without the scope. Still trying to adjust and use the scope. I like that you can adjust the power of the shot with the number of pumps.
A great air rifle
