Attention Wal-Mart shoppers, the folks at Nickelodeon and Sony/BMG Special Marketing have teamed for a third volume in the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice series. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Volume 3 is available exclusively to Wal-Mart customers.
The cream of the crop in pop music is featured on Kids' Choice Volume 3, including Danity Kane, The Naked Brothers Band, and American Idol sweetheart Carrie Underwood. The biggest voice in music today, the diva of all divas, Christina Aguilera, gets the party started with the horn infused "Ain't No Other Man." The comely blonde injects the thick track with some serious vocal gymnastics.
American Idol alumni Kelly Clarkson shows her spunky side on the grungy "Walk Away." Clarkson tells her man that she wants a strong guy and if he doesn't think he's up to it, then he should take a hike. Pink rebukes a lover who promised her forever but split, on the percussive "Who Knew." Of the new breed of pop stars, Pink is one of the more artistic singer/songwriters. Ashlee Simpson may not be as original as Pink, but Jessica's little sister has a fire in her belly. The over-driven "Invisible" treads Alanis Morrisette and Avril Lavigne territory.
Canadian Daniel Powter represents his homeland with "Bad Day." Piano and strings swirl around the singer's breezy falsetto on one of the best pop songs to hit the charts in the last five years. Nick Lachey, the former Mr. Jessica Simpson, offers up the breathy "What's Left Of Me." Lachey used to get slammed for being a talentless hanger-on, but his brilliant solo album, from which this song was taken, silenced a lot of his critics. Lachey proves he has the vocal chops to compete with any other male pop singer today.
Young R&B hipster Omarion hops around a slinky disco beat and makes his voice soar and fall like a monster tidal wave, on the buoyant "Entourage." Justin Timberlake, the male equivalent of Christina Aguilera, takes the heavily produced "Cry Me A River" to places his peers could only dream of. Timberlake is a modern day version of Michael Jackson. Actor/singer Drake Bell, who chips in the psychedelic "I Know," wears his influences well. The Beatles and The Who both come to mind on the ethereal cut.
