Book Information

The following content was provided by the publisher.
Not so very long ago, Eragon--Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider--was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.
Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.
The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaesia? And if so, at what cost?
This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

About the author

Biography of Paolini, Christopher

Christopher Paolini was born in Southern California on November 17, 1983, but grew up primarily in Paradise Valley, Montana. He was home schooled and at the age of 15, graduated from high school through an accredited correspondence course at American School in Chicago, Illinois. He decided to write a book and after three years of writing and editing, Eragon was self-published in 2001. The Paolini family spent the following year promoting the book themselves by giving presentations to the local library and high school and then eventually branching out to libraries, bookstores, and schools across the United States.

After his step-son read a copy of the book, author Carl Hiaasen brought Eragon to the attention of publisher Alfred A. Knopf, who acquired the rights to publish Eragon and the rest of the Inheritance Cycle in 2003. The other books in the cycle include Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. Eragon was made into a movie in December 2006.

Rated 5 out of 5★ by My 17 year old son loves this series. He couldn't wait to get his hands on this new book. 12/28/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by great book My son loved the book and had it done in 4 days. The site to store was awful! The same same day delivery showed then disappeared as an option, so site to store said 3 days then email said 5 days then email said delayed and we finally had it in 13 days! REDICULOUS when the item was on the floor and should have had no waiting! 12/10/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great conclusion to the Inheritance Cycle series! The conclusion to the Inheritance Cycle series, with Eragon as its beginning, was well worth the wait! I throughly enjoyed reading it and, though it was a bit predictable with overall plot, it had many well-written small twists that kept me interested. This is a fun series to read for leisure as an adult who likes fantasy novels, and I am sure that young adults/teenagers/pre-teens will also enjoy it. Great fun! 01/31/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Purchased this book for my husband as a Christmas present, he has the rest of the series and had been drooling over this one since it came out in November. It arrived at my front door when promised and packaged well. I can't say much about the story line since I haven't read it yet, but it takes a lot for my husband to actually sit down and read and he was well caught up in this book all the way until the end. 12/29/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by it pays to wait I have waited for this book for a year or more. After reading the series, it seems to have taken forever for this book to come out. It was worth the wait. 11/24/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Recipient very pleased He was pleased to receive this last book in the series. 01/04/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Perfect Ending! Paolini closes up all loose ends with the final book in the series. I laughed, cried and had my imagination stirred! This is a fantastic series and the final book made it that much greater! I recommend the series to anyone who likes Lord of the Rings. 11/25/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by So far an excellent closure to the series! I'm just over half way done with the book and it's meeting every expectation and then some to what I wanted in the final book. If you have read the first 3, then you need to finish it off with this one! I doubt you will be disappointed! 12/12/2011
