The standalone microscope comes with a real lens and three focus adjustments, including 100x, 200x and 300x. Kids can explore plants, bugs, animals and more with the 12 included slides, each containing three real specimens. This fun microscope reads fun facts aloud about each specimen. The iTikes Microscope is app-based play with interactive 3D images, illustrations and animations. Kids can play fun games on both the microscope and the app. The Kids' Microscope includes cases for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This microscope requires three AA batteries, which are sold separately.

All of the videos and details from storefronts and itikes advertise this with a real lens that has a magnification of 100x 200x and 300x. Upon inspection of the box there is a small sticker covering that information that reads 50x 100x 150x. If you download the free app you will get the best this item has to offer... a few computerized images. Save your money, not worth it. 12/25/2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by drcoco My 5 y/o and 4 y/o love this microscope! Its a fun way to get kids interested in science. Just make sure you have a compatible i-product as I have an Ipod 3rd generation so the app interaction is not fully functional. 03/19/2013
