It will work like a brand new zipper if the zipper doesn't have any broken or missing teeth .

It actually depends on the zipper. It did not work on my brother's outer heavy duty sweatshirt that had a metal zipper, it may work on plastic zippers.

As long as the teeth of the zipper are not missing or torn and the box and pin at the bottom are still intact it will work fine.

If the zipper has teeth missing and it is to close to the top of the zipper nothing will fix that. If teeth are missing near the bottom of zipper so you can still get the item on and off then this kit can help.

Will this repair kit work for a jacket separating zipper?

I just bought this kit and it has a tab on the sliders. I also had some zippers that still had sliders, but the tab had fallen off and I found some zipper pulls (tab) at Wal-mart for $.87.

The tab is connected to the sliders. If all you need is a slider you can buy those separately from a number of vendors or do what I did use a paperclip and bend it to the shape you want and you have a zipper tab and that way you can zip up your garment until you find the pull you need.

The kit includes full replacement sliders with the pull tab, you can buy tabs elsewhere but sometimes the crown comes off as well so you won't have anything to attatch it to

Does the Zipper Rescue Kit include the tab for the sliders?

The clothing kit includes both plastic and metal tooth sliders commonly found on coats (they are actually 5mm but sometimes have a #7).

The kit does not state sizes but will fix jeans,dresses,coats,slacks,skirts and work clothes.

Very easy to add a new slider! Also with the stops included, it allowed me to fix several pairs of jeans. I am so exited that I found this!

best money ever spent!!!

I recently had a clothing malfunction when the zipper on my leather jacket did not work correctly. It moved upward, but the zipper teeth did not lock together as they should. A friend suggested taking the jacket to a dry cleaner to have a new zipper installed. I knew that a complete zipper replacement on a leather jacket would probably cost more that I paid for the jacket. Plus, I could see that the zipper teeth looked to be in good condition. What else could be wrong? The zipper slider. I looked on the internet for sliders from Walmart, found and ordered them to be shipped to nearest store. They arrived a few days later and I was shocked to see they came in a cardboard box large enough to hold my jacket. The box contained 10 zipper slides which would easily fit into a 1 cubic inch box. I thought the price was high for 10 sliders, but it sure beats taking it to the cleaners for repair. Took me about five minutes to remove the old slider and install a new one. Works great, even better than the original. Thank you Walmart, but you might want to consider a smaller shipping container next time.

LEATHER JACKET'S ZIPPER FIXED IN FIVE MINUTES.

I recieved the kit and I had the zipper repaired on my jacket in about 5 minutes . Well worth the money and I still have parts to repair several more zippers .

My son was very upset when the slider on his favorite coat came off in pieces. I really didn't want to throw away a completely good coat just because of that. The zipper was fine otherwise. This repair kit was great for that situation. After reading the directions I was able to put on a new slider and the coat is good as new and my son is very happy! The only direction that wasn't completely clear was that you had to basically break the existing "stop" at the top in order to get the new slider on and then put on a new stop... which they don't have stops that match slider. So we have a black zipper with a bright gold stop at the top! No big deal to us but might bother some.

Many parts

I purchased the kit hoping to fix a pair of Boy Scout Pants/Shorts. The sliders provided did not fit the "Talon" zipper of a pair of Boy Scout pants/shorts that my grandson had lost the slider for, however, in the process, I was able to repair two leather jackets saving me over $60. A real and unexpected benefit for me.

Works great, if you need the sizes provided

I bought this product to fix my brother's heavy duty outer sweatshirt as the zipper was fine but the head was broken. After taking off the head and putting in the replacement and then zipping up the zipper the teeth did not catch so the zipper was useless. Tried it with a smaller size and got the same results. These may work on jeans but not on heavy duty zippers. I ended up buying the zipper fix that has the zipper head than snaps onto the zipper and that worked. Now my brother is happy and I have learned how to fix a zipper without replacing the whole zipper. The best part of this kit is the zipper stops because they are heavy duty and not flimsy and that is the first thing that always goes on my clothing would like to buy those separately to fix my clothing.

Did not work

I thought this kit would make replacing a zipper easier. It's no different than buying a zipper and taking the pull off with pliers.
