Great Value for Kid Beds in Small Spaces,

We recently purchased 2 of these wonderful loft beds for our sons. They share a room (ages almost 8 and 9 yrs) and we had to swap rooms with them as we're expecting another addition to the family. We needed the largest room with the WIC to convert to a nursery. However we didn't want to take away from their square footage when it came to usable floor/play space. These beds were the perfect solution.

They previously had a bunk bed they shared. While that was nice they each craved their own "private" space. As parents we wanted to address their needs/wants, but moving up house-wise to give each their own room, was out of the question at this time.

The only negatives we have experienced is the beds are a bit squeaky (but not obnoxiously so) and the ladder rungs hurt their feet (remedied with grey pipe insulation and silver duct tape which blends pretty nicely with the bed frame). I'm making curtains to hang from tension rods mounted inside the lower portion of the bed frame. They can close off the curtains when they want their own space and time apart.

So far they have been very sturdy. We saved and reused the bunkie boards under their mattresses. We're quite sure that wasn't truly necessary, but was our preference. The finish is neutral and blends very well with kid decor. Underneath we have fashioned reading/play nooks for each of them with a 3x3 cubby for book/toy storage and a bean bag and clip on lamp. They love their new beds and their new individual spaces. We as parents loved the value for the quality of product and the fact we could afford one for each of them. Thanks Wal-mart!

We bought this bed for our daughter to give her more space in her bedroom, it was easy to put together (except one screw that didn't line up but that wasn't a big deal), only took me about 2 hours by myself, we were able to fit her desk and mushroom chair under it as well as a small bookcase, we cut a twin flat sheet in half and fixed it to her bed skirt to make a curtain for it, we still need to get another to put at the end though, but she loves it!

I have own this bed for the past 6 months. My son is only 4 years old so it works for him. It did take me a little longer time to put it together. Over all the only problem I have with is the ladder. I went to go make up my son bed I was able to get up but took me a hard time to get down due to the space. Also I had to buy a low profile mattress to give him room so he wouldn't roll off. If the room is not 9 to 10 ft high I would not buy. Its saves a lot of space tho. I plan on ordering the Mini futon to place under.

super cool space saver!!,

We bought this bed a couple of weeks ago infact we bought two. One for our 4yr old and one for our 9 yr old girls. They came in perfect condition no dings or dents like other people talked about. The first one we assembled took me and my husband two hours, no other tools required, they were included. The second one took just an hour. They are very sturdy, not wobbly at all. They are a little squeaky when they move around on it. We actually had to cut 8 inches off the legs of ours because they were a little too tall for our ceilings. They were hitting their heads on the ceiling. And it was a little hard for me to make them in the morning. But now that we cut them down a little, they are perfect. They can still play under them. My oldest daughter has her desk under hers. We also got those stuffed animal hammocks and zip tied them under their beds as well. Great storage! The sides are plenty high enough with a 6 inch mattress. They are about 8 inches above the mattress top. I did not need the extra gaurd rails that I bought. They were plenty tall and secure enough. Great bed for the money! Only complaint is the cat can't make it up now!!!

A big seven yr. old,

I bought this bed for my seven yr old son, he is a big boy (91lbs) He loves the bed. It saves room and all his friends think that it is the coolest bed they have ever seen. We placed a desk and his dresser under the bed. this leaves lot's of room for wresting in the bedroom floor. This is a good buy. I'm glad I did it.

The bars on the ladder hurt his feet so I cut to size and put water noodles on the bars to make it softer for his feet when going up & down the ladder.

This is a great bed, especially for the price. It was easy to put together. It is great for adding extra floor space for your kids to play. I do recommend goin to home depot and buying some pipe foam insulation to put on the steps as another person had mentioned. That is a great idea, the foam blends in nicely so it does not look tacky. Your kids wont complain about their feet hurting.

I am satisfied with my purchase. The shipment arrived quickly in about 3-4 days. When my husband was putting the bed together, he noticed there was a missing screw and one of the screw holes was worn out but the place where to screw it was not so bad that my daughter could not use it. Also, it came with a small dent but is not noticeable.

It is very cool for my teenager and now there is more space in her and her sister's room. We put a desk under it and hope to put a dresser or tv stand.

We have two boys who share a room and they absolutely love their new beds. They each got a new desk (also from Walmart.com) to go underneath and have personalized their own spaces. We found clip-on reading lamps and hung a small shelf by each sleeping loft. It was great that we were able to do it all for under $500. So far we're very pleased. My only complaint is that it hurts my feet to step on the ladder...oh...and that it's a lot harder to sneak in and watch them sleep. : )

This bed is so great! My daughter, 6 yrs. old, sleeps all night and loves it! She has no problems with the ladder but I find the ladder uncomfortable. But anyone under the weight limit doesn't. It was very easy for the two of us to put together and took less than 2 hours. We used a screw gun and the bed doesn't shake or make any noises. Its very sturdy! Rails are high enough to fit a 8 inch mattress! So roomy underneath and makes the room look bigger! A must have for any room!

I got this for my 15 year old daughter, because she has a very very small room, we always have problems with space, but when she saw this product she fell in love with it. It came within no time, it was easy to put together as long as you have more than one person to help.. This product has helped so much with the space issues we always have. My daughter now jokes " I have so much space I can do a cartwheel... I really recommend this product to others you won't be sorry...

Pleasantly surprised!!!,

We bought this bed yesterday morning for our 7 year old daughter. We picked the bed up around 8 am yesterday morning. After dropping it at the house my husband left for work. After staring at the box for an hour while drinking my morning coffee I figured I'd give it a shot. By noon the bed was completely put together and the mattress was on it. The bed was very easy to put together!!! When my husband came home he verified I had tightened all the bolts properly.

The bed seems to be very secure. Hopefully it will continue to hold up.

We are very pleased so far!

Bought two of these beds for my girls ages 13 and 9. Was worried about the height of them after reading reviews but they seem to be working out well with our 8 foot ceilings. Didn't have any real problems putting them together.Their room is very small and these beds make it so much easier on space. My girls love them and for the first time in months my 9 year old is in her own bed!

This is a very cool bed, however I didn't completely realize that there really is no railing edge on the top. The railing essentially only holds the mattress, and with the bed so high, you need to add a additional safety railing or your child could potentially just roll right off the top. The weight limit for this bed is only 150# as well, further limiting the age of the child who may use it.

I bought this for my sons newly remodeled bedroom. What a space saver!! It looks great, and the room below the bed is unbelievable. It has his large glass and metal computer desk, Your Zone cart and still room. He loves it, and at 15 they can be extremely picky. Not at all hard to put together, did it myself, with only two times asking for help to hold something up and I have a bad shoulder.
If your thinking of buying this-STOP- Just buy it, you will be happy you did!

I purchased this bed at the store for $149.99 for my daughter who weighs 85 lbs. (the weight limit is 150 lbs.). It doesn't seem real stable as she climbs up and down it (not like it's unsafe, it's just creaky). There were several pieces (plates where you bolt it together) that were bent. Since it was for Christmas, I decided to take my hammer to it and was able to straiten them out and when put together it is not noticeable. Also, all of the stickers that label the pieces for assembly are very hard to get off. OK buy for the price.

Put together in about an hour. Extremely rambunctious Eighty lb. 10 year old cracked one of the wooden slats before we had time to put on the plastic rings that reinforce metal bars under mattress. Yet - I'd still buy it again, gives her lots of room and seems sturdy - not flimsy with the exception of the thin pine slats. Bunky board def. recommended. For the ladder bars which are square shaped we just cut some foam pool noodles to size, slit open one side and put it over bar.

Very upset,

I was so excited when I ordered this loft bed for my 14 yo son. It assembled very easily in 2 hrs. The finish looks very nice. Unfortunately, the bed is very noisy and unstable. We made sure all the hex nuts were securely tightened. I went online to check in the item description if there was a weight limit. NOWHERE is it stated. The only place a weight limit is mentioned is on the last page of the instructions and it is written in Spanish! Needless to say, my son was vey upset because he can not keep this bed, so now his younger sister has a new bed since the hex nuts were tightened so much we cant get the bed unassembled! We even went on the manufacturer's website and a weight limit isnt mentioned there either.
