It uses 5 type a 40w bulbs or 5 13w CFl bulbs

i beleive its 40 wattage bulbs. and its the bigger socket chandelier type bulbs. if use use higher wattage or the roundish bulbs it my burn/melt the shade. it happen to me on my sons but not my daughters... dont know why...

Uses normal bulbs not the tiny socket ones.

This takes regular sized/standard bulbs. It is recommended 40w or less. I'm using 38w bulbs and the light is terrific.

I just use a few of those twisted bulbs that are no higher than the limit stated on the lamp--13 watt.

The lamp paperwork says 5 of the 40W MAX type A bulbs or 5 of the 13W CFL bulbs. There are 5 bulbs, so it is a lot of light. For that reason, I went with 5 of the 9W CFL bulbs and it is great. The lamp DOES NOT come with light bulbs, just to clarify.

This 5-arm lamp takes standard-base bulbs, NOT candelabra-base bulbs. I should also mention that bulbs are NOT included with this lamp. You can use standard 40-watt incandescent (maximum recommended wattage per arm) OR the energy-saving compact fluorescent 9-watt, (equivalent to the old-fashioned 40-watt incandescent.) Total recommended wattage is 200, so 40-watts per arm, whether old-fashioned incandescent or new CFL. I personally prefer the compact fluorescent. They really last a long time &amp; are very competitively priced now. The old-fashioned bulbs burn out so quickly. You don&#39;t have to buy colored bulbs for this fixture. Once you put the white bulbs in &amp; turn on the lamp, the shades will emit their colors. I have this lamp in orange/pink tones (bought elsewhere) &amp; I love it!

I just use 5 40w equivalent led bulbs and puts out plenty of light and uses little energy.

yes, I chose the grey, white, orange, dk and light blue. there are 2 color patterns and this is the one I chose. The other is more brilliant and more geared for the younger, I think. I will be using my white and light blue for sewing.

no, comes with colored shades. Not sure if you can buy other colored shades or not. Not addressed in the paperwork that came with my lamp. Customer service # 1-800-643-0092 might be able to answer that question.

Hello there. I bought the 40W Reveal ceiling fan light bulbs (the candelabra bulb) at Home Depot. I do not use the yellow bulbs anymore and replaced ALL of our lights with Reveal bulbs. Yes, they are more expensive, but definitely worth it. It is true "pure white" light and better for your eyes. It makes a huge difference using these bulbs. Hope that helped!

You should buy the soft white bulbs. Preferably under 45 watts.

just get the cheap white 40 watt bulbs UNLESS you really do care about getting soft white...seriously, the color shades alter the color either way!
