YES. NONYX is effective even under nail polish. 
TO USE WITH POLISH: Apply gel with a small brush or pad. Let dry 10 minutes then apply basecoat, color and topcoat.  Thereafter apply gel daily only under nail edge (if thick or lifted).  Remove polish every 7–14 days, wash nails, scrape out any softened keratin debris and repeat. Not recommended for use with gel-type polish.

I noticed some of my toenails getting yellow and thick for a while, but I've always had some issues with my nails and didn't really think anything of it. That is, until it became extremely noticeable, started turning brown, and was very painful! I was so embarrassed of my feet and my big toenails hurt when I wore shoes. I didn't go to a podiatrist, but after looking at my symptoms online I deemed it toenail fungus. I tried a few different products and none of them did anything until I tried Nonyx.  It is cumbersome to use this product everyday for months, but it was SO worth it. Both of my big toes were horribly infected and now all of my toenails are almost completely back to normal. The applicator tip sees a little thick and makes it hard to get the gel underneath the nail, but apparently it does the job. I could not be happier with my results!

I started using this nonyx 9 months ago The label says use 2x a day I use it 3 to 5x a day.
The results are amazing.
I have had this problem with my feet for 20 years test after test for fungal infection that always come up negative.
I found this product by accident and decided if I didn't see a difference in 3 months I'll stop.
Well I saw a big difference my nails and skin on my feet have healed about 85% I have bought 3 more bottles and am convinced I will have cured this over growing skin problem.

I have been using this product for about a year. I am grateful to have found Nonyx for a reasonable price through Walmart. (it was much higher elsewhere.) A year ago, my toenails were so damaged from work related injuries two toenails were growing sideways instead of straight out. They were so thick I had to buy special scissors to trim them. They were in constant pain and very sensitive to the touch. My fingernails were also suffering; they were black from subcutaneous bleeding and deeply rigged. I am sorry to say, my phone isn't emailing photos for some reason. I would dearly love to post one to show off my beautiful nails. No discoloration. Seven out of ten fingernails show no signs of ridges. Only very slight ridging is on the remaining three. The two toe nails are now growing out straight and I can use normal clippers to trim them. I am a gramma and my fingernails are the envy of twenty-year-olds. I cannot say enough about what a God sent this product has been. Follow the directions: twice a day one damp nails.

Better than advertised.

This gel truly works.  I had the thickest gross toe nails for years. You have to be consistent and use twice a day in order for it to work. After about 4 weeks my nails were obviously changing in color and thickness.  If it posts anonymously I will come back and attach pics .

I bought this because it really works and it is a lot cheaper, at Walmart, than it is at other stores. If your toenails are thick and yellow, then using this works. It does take a while, but it tells you that. Once your nails aren't thick and yellow anymore, you do have to use it 2 or 3 times a week to maintain.

I attracted foot fungus sharing the same shower/tub with my husband that had it. I had the same symptoms of smelly, cracked, dark , thick toenails. My feet didn't itch, but they peeled and were sweaty. I tried everything including throwing away all my shoes. I purchased new open toe shoes and covered up my thick and dark toenails with nail polish. I went through creams, sprays and lotions for foot fungus.I even used the polish that fights toe fungus. Nothing seemed to work. I came across Nonyx. I checked the reviews. Read the instructions on how to use it and decided to give it a try. I wanted to make sure to put in extra effort to cure my condition. I purchased a foot spa, 100 count box of black tea, peppermint oil and Dawn dishwashing liquid. I prepared a warm foot soak regimen for 30 minutes twice a week. Sometimes three times a week because it relaxes me. I applied the Nonyx 2xs a day per instructions. I applied in the morning and at night after my shower and foot bath. I purchased a long handled back brush for my feet to use when I showered. I purchased this on June 2. It's September and the difference is clear toenails growing in. I continue to trim off the thick nail while the clear one grows in. I will be able to even it out eventually.

Follow the instructions don't give up. Toenails must grow out completely. I was fungus free for almost 2 years. For some reason it has returned. I will start the process again.

Following the directions on the package/bottle you will feel the sensation on the nails that it is working on exfoliating the keratin after about a week. I have yet to remove it all but I will in time. I bought this because of my doctor's recommendation and of excellent reviews from other users.

I recently discovered all you need is peroxide. Put the toenail back far as you can. And yes it's gonna hurt a bit, then pour peroxide on it twice today. You'll notice results in just a couple of days.
