I recently purchased a new computer with Window's 7. I purchased this book that came with a CD and it is just simply fantastic. I saw nothing wrong with the book or the CD, they are very, very informative and I am well on my way to learning Windows-7.

She is going to be using windows 7 and has never been on a computer before so I need to get her a book that will be easy for her to learn from.

  • The author, Andy Rathbone, has an excellent reputation as an author of computer reference books. With some guidance, willing junior-high students, or those more advanced, could well profit from its use.

  • This book will answer questions on the operating system, Windows 7. She would also need the PC's for Dummies book in order to learn the basics of a computer. That book is also excellent. That is how I learned about computers and it was spot on in helping me. I hope this helps you making your decision.

  • Yes, but I would also have a live person who is familiar with computers in general and Windows 7 in particular help her. A book can't teach you experience.

  • The series uses humor to help the newer user get through the "techie speak" parts of the book.

  • Check your local bookstore for basic computing books. However, this book will make a great reference book.

  • By all means buy this book. It also comes with a CD. She will learn Windows 7 without any problems at all. It is step-by-step and very explanatory.

  • Definitely! I also suggest to get "Computers for Dummies". One will help with getting started and the other will help with the program.
