My concern is this; I wouldn't fire my .357 in my house except as a last resort for fear of through and through penetration of an intruder plus additional wall or walls and possibly to hit a family member. My 12 ga tactical I believe to be a better defensive weapon but don't use shot gun slugs shich may also do a through and through. 00 shot at the distances inside a home pose less of this threat and just as effective I think. Even no. 4 load at 30 feet is going to take the fight out of anyone.

  • A. Sounds to me like you might be better off to climb out a window and run. If someone gets inside of your house just one time you'll change your mind about using your shotgun to defend your family. Since you have a "tactical shotgun" you must have had some thoughts of using it to defend your family, but if you have any doubts about using it now then get rid of it especially if you have young children in your house In your case you appear to have some serious doubts about using it and that can be more dangerous to your family, hesitation can get you hurt.

  • A. JimBob you are correct with the .357 or any pistol in an adrenaline height moment when hitting a target counts, excluding my Taurus Judge loaded with PDX1's staggered with 000 buck. My 12ga. is also locked & loaded with the PDX1's staggered with 00 buck- overkill? not by any stretch of the imagination. It's your family and you you're defending from intruders.
