There are no tools - the pieces simply snap together. I assembled it by myself when I was 8 months pregnant!

yes, 1 person can assemble it all alone in about 30 to 45 mins. depends on how carefully you follow directions. insert the rods firmly enough for sturdiness.

It's a one person job. Press firmly the metal poles into the black plastic connectors, but caution...do not POUND them in, as they will go out the other side, and then it's a hassle getting them pulled back out evenly.

It's a bit of a pain to assemble, but not complex. No tools and you can do it alone.

There are lots of tubes and "black plastic connection pieces"; they are all well labeled and its VERY easy to put together. It only took me 20 minutes!

My husband (who is not very great at putting things together) put this together in no time. If it takes tools they come in the box with it. He did it by hisself and it took about 20-30 minutes.

I bought some cheep white bookcases and built a wall in my studio to make a "closet"/separate room.

No cover. I used shower curtain rings and cut up an old drape to make it a little cleaner visually, but it doesn't pull back like a drape would because there are rods that cross at the top which prevent that kind of maneuver.

No. The unit does not come with a cover. You could probably buy one or have one made. You would have to measure it for fit.

It doesn&#39;t come with one but if you go to the Whitmor Double Rod Freestanding Closet Cover you can order the cover and the  closet together as a bundle. Don&#39;t know why they don&#39;t show that as an option with the closet, they should.

It is like putting it on a open shelf . I love the airy look. Things get dusty inside closets too so I am not suree of the comparison.

Anything will get dusty out in the open, you can just wipe it down once in a while.. I haven't noticed a problem in the month i've had mine so far

I suppose if you don't use this daily, it would collect dust (your clothes may, anyway). If using this as storage, I would suggest maybe using some type of sheet or covering over it. If this would fit in my closet, I wouldn't need it, so I never thought of doing such. I wouldn't be too worried about collecting dust unless you use it infrequently.

This is an open shelving and hanging system that is free standing. It gets about as dusty as a normal coat rack. If you use it often then dust wont accumulate. If you are using to store things you rarely use, then I recommend protecting those things in plastic or garment bags

I put mine next to my closet because I needed the extra closet space. I haven't had any problems with it getting dusty. I use it regularly and maybe that is why. I could see it happening if you left it out in a garage or somewhere where you might not be using regularly simply for storage.

It won't get to dusty the shelfs are made of steel so if out in a garage or porch it will rust

Yes, rooms get dust so this will get a little dust,not the type of dust that we get on our photo frames especially if we don't dust. But if you use the clothes often then that won't be so bad.
If you take care of your room then it shouldn't be so dusty.

i love this freestanding closet, its affordable and it holds alot of stuff.The only problem i had with this, was the color it didnt go with my girly themed room, so i had to decorate it a bit wit ribbon and duct tape so it could look a bit girly. but besides that i love it. i also love that it have that extra shelf at the bottom so i could display my shoes. hope this was helpful :).
