It was white, do not purchase this product. You get what you pay for....

Base is white. Lower arm is white with chrome upper and chrome rack
with white fittings. No black seen.

The picture shows white. The specifications says black. What color is this rack?

The racks are made of plastic, kind of thin plastic where the poles are inserted. In my review I mentioned that it was kind of rickety. Hope this helps.

It is partly made of plastic. So far it is very sturdy.

It's got metal bars, but the joints and base are plastic. Don't buy it, look for a completely metal one. I bought 2 and they are both broken after using 1 one time, and the other 2 times. It's not a sturdy rack at all.

For the most part this is a metal rack. There are plastic pieces on the end of the top rack and as a T joint to connect the top post to the metal bars (so [ & T= plastic).

The metal before each T can be adjusted into the bar and the plastic at the end keeps it from going to far inside (I find it really handy).
Also the wheels and Runners at the bottom are plastic but not the connecting bars so if you are looking down on it (only this time [ would be one solid piece on each side made from plastic). Hopefully that helps, for I do not have pictures.

It is part plastic, which makes it less sturdy and reliable. This rack was garbage for me. If you do not plan on hanging many garments then this item may work for you. If you have plans for as many garments as it can fit, you may want to go with an all metal rack, which I am in search of now.

Is the whole rack made of metal or is part of it plastic?

It's very sturdy. It feels sturdier without the casters, but I'm not sure. Right now I have 5 Jackets hanging on it. I only needed it for the vestibule to hang coats on and to put our boots on the bottom rack.

This past weekend I had at least a dozen or more shirts and pants hanging up to dry. Not real sure how much it will hold?

I don't know the exact poundage, but when I used it with a full load of clothes, it was NOT sturdy. It was very top-heavy and unstable. It was not over-loaded either, just clothes loosely hung on the top bar the full length of the bar. I wish I could go back and buy one that was made better and without any plastic parts.

My laundry room is in my garage, and I was needing a rack to hang-dry clothes and clothes that were already dried.

First of all, the rack is perfect and was just what I needed. It was very easy to assemble and is not flimsy at all. If I need to dry my clothes faster, I can wheel it into the living room. I love the moveable ends that extend a foot at each end. Very convenient for my hangers.

Another feature I like is that the rack extends upwards as well. I'm a big and tall guy and I have the rack extended at its highest setting. Plenty of room from the bottom for my big shirts.

I had seriously considered purchasing a stainless steel rack from another store in the price range of $50. This is another great value from Walmart that saved me some money.

Also used the Site-to-Store to save on shipping, making it an even better value because shipping sometimes adds another $15 to your order. It took a week or so, but I saved once again.

Awesome Laundry Room Addition

I'm happy with the purchase. I like the white color. And it is pretty versatile - both the length and height are adjustable. I put it behind the door at the entrance - we have a small entrance hall way where we cannot put in an entrance closet, but we need something where we can hang our coats when entering the door. This shelf serves the purpose. It is not as steady as I would want, but we don't move it around a lot, so it is fine for us. We probably hang over ten winter coats and heavy sweater on it. It holds up fine so far.

Easy setup and works perfectly for lighter weight shirts/slacks. I have 26 of them hanging on it now and it rolls and supports just fine. Could probably put another 10 or so garments.

Walmart-Deluxe Adjustable Garment Rack
Once again Whitmor delivers a quality product! I needed some additional hanging space for my seasonal outerwear, slacks and dresses. I had previously purchased other Whitmor products and really liked them. Their Adjustable Garment Rack was very easy to put together and seems very sturdy. There is ample room for my clothing as well as my daughter's and the bottom bars are ideal for shoes. Well done! I continue to be a satisfied customer.

Good value for the money but be careful, if you need to move it the bottom rods can come out easily. I like that you can expand it if you need a little extra space. Pretty durable for the price, bought it for my husband who collects sports jerseys.

It came close to meeting my expectations. The let down was that the bottom rack was plastic. I guess I mean it was thin plastic which made the entire rack kind of rickety. It will serve the purose I intended, hanging a few blouses at a time to dry, but I can't see hanging anything much heavier. It was easy to assemble and moves around easily on the wheels.

Close but no Cigar!

We purchased this product for our laundry room. It did not take long to set up, and it looked OK. However, the weight of the clothes slightly bent down both of the outsides of the top pole, so we inserted a large dowel inside the top to add stability. Also, it fell over on its own (just from the weight of the clothes that were hanging on it) twice, and we had to wire it to the wall. It does not have enough support in the legs to stand up under a heavier load. In short, we believe this product to be acceptable only if you have a few clothes to hang up, and definitely not in the wind. There are probably better options out there. Although they might cost a bit more, they may be worth it.

A Disappointment

Put this together fairly easily but once I put closthes on it the bottom bars popped out and the whole rack went tumbling down. Several pieces cracked making it then useless. Extremely flimsy. Do not buy unless you only plan to hang less than 10 garments on it. On the only plus side, I loved the white and it was visually appealing.

FLIMSY!

This product was below my expectations. It kept falling apart each time we hung clothes on it. I had to hammer in the bottom rods, and so far it is staying up, but it does say no tools required, and I had to have all the clothing drop 5 times before I came up with that.

Fell apart

First of all, the box was not sealed properly on either end, so several pieces fell out on the way out of the store, and then again when I turned the box the other way. Assembly was easy, but the rack is very flimsy and will not hold as much as I had hoped. It is a very disappointing purchase all the way around.
