I am a tightwad. I have needed a clothes drying rack for years but never saw one cheap enough. This one fits the bill for price, size and stability. I use it evey weekend. I am glad I waited and found his one.

I was so excited to receive this rack, and so very disappointed when i started putting clothes on it. for the price i paid i wasn't expecting the rack to lean towards one side. its not like i put my clothes on it, it was only my daughters clothes and she's 3mths old. its super light and can be stored anywhere, but it has no stability. i hate to say this but don't buy this product, its such a waste of money!

I thought this was all chrome, but it is not. And it is kind of short. I am looking for one like my mom had back in the late '40's-'50's. It was wood, about 5' tall and strong enough to hold sheets folded in half!

Great Help in apartment life

I bought this drying rack because it costs me so much money to use the apartment complex dryer and with no place to hang clothes, I was in a bind. This rack provides me a space to do some hand laundry and portable so it can be set inside the bathtub or set on the balcony on a good day.

I bought this rack hoping it would be stronger and more stable than the $10 wooden models... but no. Not only is this unit just as flimsy and wobbly, but the arms that hook onto the top rail to make it stand up have notches too small for the rails, so the coating on the rail is torn the very first time you set it up. I'm returning this unit and will hold out for a real, metal unit.

  • A. The only concern I would have is with tipping. & I wouldn't leave it out in the rain over night or anything. Not sure it would hold up very long if it was PERMANENTLY outside in different weather conditions. But for light use and during sunny dry days I don't see why it wouldn't be okay.

  • A. I would say maybe. If there wasn't a huge wind and it was protected somewhat. I think as long as it was full of clothes and there was a breeze, it would be fine.

I guess this would be considered a weight limit question. I have used the wood racks that are generally sturdy and I miss the one I had. I was wondering if this even compares to an old fashioned wooden drying rack? Or is it "cheaply" made and would it break with four pairs of lightly dried jeans and lightly dried t-shirts on hangers on the outside dowels. Or am I doomed to have it break or collapse?

  • A. We have used good sturdy wood racks until the last one gave out. I was reluctant to buy anything but wood. This one is better. No warping at all; neither is there a wood surface to dry out and become "splintery" over time. It is sturdy yet light-weight... easy to lift in and out of the bath-tub as needed.

I have a dryer, but don't like to put a lot of delicates/hand-wash or items prone to shrinking in it. Does it leave marks on your clothes? Has anyone experienced it rusting? Can you tell me about your experiences with delicate dresses, tops, etc.

  • A. No rusting. It will leave a slight mark if you hang clothes over one rod but it depends on the material. If you are really concerned you could put a hand towel underneath the item.

  • A. I have used this rack for several months, including very lightweight summer shirts (silk, batiste). I've had no problem with rust, marks or discoloration. I also use the rack to be sure my towels, washcloths, etc, are completely dry before tossing them into the hamper ... to prevent mold or musty odors.
