I am a tightwad. I have needed a clothes drying rack for years but never saw one cheap enough. This one fits the bill for price, size and stability. I use it evey weekend. I am glad I waited and found his one.

Great Help in apartment life

Customer review by IslandDryEyes

I bought this drying rack because it costs me so much money to use the apartment complex dryer and with no place to hang clothes, I was in a bind. This rack provides me a space to do some hand laundry and portable so it can be set inside the bathtub or set on the balcony on a good day.

good enough for me

I have to say it doesn't compare to the drying rack I had gotten as a hand me down from when my grandmother used it. Those wooden ones are BIG... & I'd love to have one again someday. BUT this holds up a lot better than the small wood ones for sure. It seems a bit flimsy, but has held up so far. Very lightweight and easy to move around. I like it. Not sure I liked paying 30 for it, but it'll do the job. =)

I guess this would be considered a weight limit question. I have used the wood racks that are generally sturdy and I miss the one I had. I was wondering if this even compares to an old fashioned wooden drying rack? Or is it "cheaply" made and would it break with four pairs of lightly dried jeans and lightly dried t-shirts on hangers on the outside dowels. Or am I doomed to have it break or collapse?

  • We have used good sturdy wood racks until the last one gave out. I was reluctant to buy anything but wood. This one is better. No warping at all; neither is there a wood surface to dry out and become "splintery" over time. It is sturdy yet light-weight... easy to lift in and out of the bath-tub as needed.

  • No problem! I had four sweat shirts and a pair of jeans on it this week. Surprisingly strong. I replaced a wooden rack and happy I did.

  • I just bought these clothes bars and really like them. It is quite sturdy. Yes it would hold four pairs of jeans! It is hard plastic and chrome. Mostly chrome. I hope this helps. I use mine everyday. I love 'em!

  • the wood ones are terrible - i've bought 2 over the past 3 years both broke due to weight/falling over and breaking. this is very very sturdy. you'll actually have to work to open it.

  • The reviews that I've read, and my experience so far, suggest that this rack will be sturdier than any of the wooden ones.

  • Our entire family uses this. I have found it of great quality. Well Made, and Sturdy. It has been fully loaded with wet jeans, towels, hooded sweat shirts, and work out clothes all at the same time. lady2006

  • i used wooden ones also. This is easy to put up and take down and i use it weekly. it could be knocked over by rambuncitous animals or children. Then so could my wooden ones.

  • The only concern I would have is with tipping. & I wouldn't leave it out in the rain over night or anything. Not sure it would hold up very long if it was PERMANENTLY outside in different weather conditions. But for light use and during sunny dry days I don't see why it wouldn't be okay.

  • I would say maybe. If there wasn't a huge wind and it was protected somewhat. I think as long as it was full of clothes and there was a breeze, it would be fine.
