These lights will burn all night long as long as they are in the sun half the day. They have the same electronics circuit board as the Gladiator Westinghouse but a smaller battery and solar cell. If you only use only the solar cell and measure the current through a 1.6 ohms resistor with a test light source shining on it at 13 inches, the number of microamperes will be the number of lumens of brightness. So you can make this photocell part into a DIY light meter. Not bad for under a buck!!! You can also transplant the circuit board and use your other older solar cell to repair that non-working more expensive AA solar light from someone else. Make sure you have a 0.3 V Ge blocking diode between the cell and the battery. Lumen conversion factor: 60 Lumens per watt for LEDs according to rapidtables.com. Current draw is 6.1 ma at 1.2 volts or .00744 watts. That's 0.45 lumen of output for the Turbo Rocket. The Westinghouse Gladiators Lights draw 10.5 ma or output 0.756 lumens. Stefan

What do you expect? They are $.97. The main problem with these is that out of every 10 sold there will be 2 dead out of the box. That doesn't mean they are worthless. I bought 20 at this price and had 2 that wouldn't work. Then I returned the 2 and had another dead one again. Then I decided to look into it a bit further. Seems there is a slight problem with the pull tab that activates the battery for shipping. Well once pulled it sometimes dislodges the battery enough to eliminate contact with the battery housing thus making it not work. Simple fix is to just wiggle the battery with a pen or other small object and reconnect the leads. No problem. First use and mine worked well for 6+ hours with only a 2-3 hour charge. I naturally expect battery life to diminish over the season but at this price they are considered disposable. I wouldn't even bother trying to replace the battery because it will be cheaper to just replace the whole unit, unless you can get a super deal in bulk on the battery at less than a buck a piece. Brightness is no where near what you'd expect but like I said, they are $.97. They are perfectly visible from the street and outline what you want well, just don't expect to read by them. I have seen and used single units like these at 5X the price and even they only give you a season or two, then the battery life dies out. Again at this price you just can't complain.

We have purchased 20+ of these economical solar lights over the past year or two. They produce light very well for such a nominal cost. Much better than some more expensive ones we have purchased. Plus we have been impressed with the longevity of the rechargeable solar battery. Well worth the 97 cents I paid for them!

I have bought about ten of these lights over the past couple years and have only had one that didn't work. We use these while camping as well as around our yard and I've used them in craft projects. For under a buck these are excellent lights. I've bought some more expensive ones in the past and these work just as well for less money.

    • A. If you mean come off the stake, yes. The stake fits right inside the base for storing. But if you need the size to that of a ‘VOTIVE”, your best bet is to get ‘VOTIVE’ lights that come in a package of 3 to 6 at The Dollar Store.
