This slow cooker is excellent. My last large slow cooker had three settings but one temperature,HOT. This one actually has three temperatures, low high, and keep warm. I am no longer boiling dry and/or burning everything I try to cook slow.

I was begining to wonder if I'd ever find another slow cooker like my trusty OLD Rival. This one is definetly a step up. Nice Job; this products manufacturer gets it, SLOW COOKER. Watch out for those other hot running dust makers!

Have had this cooker for 6 years, used many times. Food comes out great and cooker still looks wonderful and works perfectly. Definitely recommend for price range. Only draw back is that pot can't be put on stove top but not expected at this price.

I really think this a great cooker. I haven't had it very long but it has worked beautifully the times I have used it. Looks good, works good and a very good price. I would suggest this to my friends.

I was unpleasantly surprised at how heavy this slow cooker is. Much heavier than my prior similar Rival one. Can't store it high up on a shelf as I did the other one because it's just too heavy to lift up and down each time I use it. I'm also worried I may drop and break the stone insert while cleaning it because of the weight. Since I was only able to order it online, I couldn't feel the weight in the store before ordering. Other than that, it works well so far, and the fact that it does have low, high, and warm settings is excellent. It also can accommodate a very large roast which is good. Would not recommend for a senior citizen or someone without strong arm muscles!

We chose a West Bend cooker because we had two previous WestBend cookers for over 20yrs and they are still operating. The last cooker (a Crofton) worked less than two years. The black ceramic insert from the Crofton was saved for a backup in case we broke the WestBend insert. It could also be used for a large serving dish at parties. The only complaint is the simple Hi/Low control. I would really like to have more choices. We chose the WestBend over a cooker of the same price with digital controls because another reviewer mentioned that a short power outage would disrupt the program and it wouldn't resume when the power returned. Also hoping that the WestBend continues to be the reliable product that it was in the past.

When I got married I registered for this crockpot and received 2. I'm not much of a crock pot cooker so I had the first one about 4 years and used it maybe 10 times. It started burning my food. I would set the cooker on low and it would boil the liquid that was in it and eventually burn the food. I had to keep a constant watch on it. I also saw that the pot had cracked. Maybe this was caused by the high heat? Not sure. I don't have a dishwasher so it was always handwashed. I got rid of this one and pulled out the 2nd one that I had. After 3 years the same exact thing happened. The pot cracked and it started burning my food. I'm getting rid of this one and going with a Hamilton Beach.

BURNS FOOD

My old Rival Crockpot died recently after 30 years of use and I went looking for another one. Although I was given a new Rival crockpot just a few years ago, everything burned so I continued to use my good old faithful Rival. After old faithful finally bit the dust, I went in search of a new one. After reading the reviews for various crockpots, I decided on the West Bend because it appeared to be the only one out there that didn't burn the food it was supposedly slow cooking. Apparently, that wasn't the case as I had my crockpot on the "low" setting and after 5 hours, my pasta sauce was burned.

This is a wonderful appliance that gets used frequently. I have made soupls, stews, chicken, pot roast etc in this pot and have had great results. I love the large oval shape that fits a roast or chicken much better than the round slow cookers. The "warm" feature is an added plus from many models that just have "low" and High" settings. Also the quality and look of the item is great. If it had a timer on this model, it would be even better.
