Rated 5 out of 5 by Aerye Very Pleased!!! Lives Up to Expectations I did quite a bit of research before purchasing the G40. I compared it to the Weslo G5.9 at Walmart, as well as many other treadmills by other companies. After using this for a month, I'm very, very pleased. Many sites caution against purchasing lower end treadmills and cite the reasons as durability, motor power, etc. They encourage you to spend $1000 for something that will last. Well, I don't run on this. I have no intention of running on this treadmill, either. I needed something that would let me walk, yet give me a few bells and whistles. This suits my purposes perfectly.PROS1. A friend easily put it together in about 45 minutes.2. It feels sturdy and I don't feel that it will fall apart on me.3. The features are exactly what I needed. I feel I have bells and whistles. I especially like the heart monitor, the program features, the incline and the ability to fold it up. I can easily vary speed and see exactly how far I've walked, as well as how many calories I burned.4. The price was great!5. There is an emergency magnet that gives me confidence in case I should stumble or have something happen. The treadmill stops immediately when this is removed. I keep it around my wrist.6. The digital display is easy to read.CONS - I have none.I keep this set up so I can walk and watch TV or read. There's a place for my water and my remote. If I need to stop, it basically pauses and lets me continue, with a simple start button.I cannot comment for those who want to run, but if you are looking for a decent machine to let you get in shape, lose weight with a steady walking program, then the G40 fits the bill. 10/01/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by BirdPointBoy Excellent buy! This treadmill is excellent. The instructions are very well written and the parts clearly identified. One person can put it together although it would be easier with two. Guys, you do need to thoroughly read the instructions first and also reread each section before assembling each part of the machine. The electronics on the machine are amazing. They measure everything you could want including heart beat, calories burned, distance walked, speed and more. I am VERY happy with this machine. The quality is superb and the price very affordable. 08/29/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by mizalice Thanks to all the favorable reviews for this treadmill, I ordered one. When it arrived I tried to put it together myself then had to ask a neighbor for help when I found two people actually are needed for assembly. He had a little trouble too with a couple of the bolts that didn't want to go in but overall it went together well. I've only had it a week but started walking after recuperating from the assembly (next day) and am very pleased with the treadmill. It is much quieter than others I've owned. So far I've used the manual speed after trying the P-1 which sped up and had me running. I'm not ready for that yet. It seems very sturdy, not shaking or rattling when in use. Glad I got it. 08/29/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by RunningMom29 Great Quality Treadmill at the perfect price! This treadmill is perfect for my needs - it needed to be quiet, withstand running and be under $300. I've had it for about 2 months and both walk and run on it several times a week. Assembly was easy with two people, no missing parts or damage. I DEFINITELY recommend this model!Pros:• Shorter and Narrower than most treadmills.• Folds for storage• Great for walking or running. Goes up to 10 mph which seems insane. I've gone up to 5.8• Quiet. Just the sound of your feet and the whir or whoosh of the treadmill belt.• Great cup holders and spot to place a bookCons:• No back-lit display. Which isn't a problem if you're in a well lit room.• The buttons really need to be pushed kinda hard to increase/decrease speed. I can foresee the labels being worn off the buttons in a few years.• When briskly walking, I keep hitting my hands on the side handles that jut out (maybe I just swing my hands wide). To protect myself from bruising the tops of my hands I put tennis balls over the ends of the handles. 08/01/2011
