    Customer Product Reviews

    Rated 4.7 out of 5★ by 250reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great step up from a trailer My wife and I are avid cyclists and both own several high end bikes of both types. That being said we are very particular about the bikes we, and our 3 children ride. Our kids love to ride, but with the littlest one being only 4 she has a hard time keeping up on her bike with training wheels and is no longer interested in riding in the enclosed trailer behind Mom or Dad.We wanted to upgrade to something that would benefit the whole family without breaking the bank. We started to look into trailers like the co-pilot and quickly found prices to be upwards of $200 for similar products. As stated earlier, we own several high end bikes so we know the value and quality of more expensive bikes, but didn't feel this was necessary for a 4 year old. When we saw the co-pilot from WalMart under $70 we were hopeful but skeptical this could be the answer we'd been searching for. When it arrived we quickly assembled it and took it for a test ride. Immediately our daughter was excited to be cruising along with everyone else. And although even at the lowest seat adjustment she couldn't pedal the full stroke she nevertheless enjoyed coasting when she didn't want to try pedaling.Unfortunately, we did however notice a terrible sound from the freewheel/hub which started about 5 mins in and continued throughout our ride. After some careful diagnosing it appeared that the bearings in the freewheel were shot. We were disappointed to say the least, but figured we'd just return it and get another and see if it was a fluke. The second one arrived and after a test ride it rode even better than we'd originally expected. We are happy to say that after a month of frequent usage on both short and long rides it continues to perform beyond our expectations. Our 7yr old has also enjoyed using it when he doesn't want to ride his own bike and it has allowed him to go on longer rides with the ability to coast when he's tired of pedaling. The quick release seat adjuster makes it simple to change between riders of different ages.Just a few things to note:1. If the kids are wiggling around or leaning it is noticeable on the front bike and requires some balancing up front.2. When kids pedal there is noticeably less effort required by the front rider.3. The chain guard cover can be easily dented and/or bent if the bike is leaned on the drive side of the bike.4. Switching the attachment bracket between bikes (if you consider doing this) is a somewhat tedious procedure so consider which bike it will be used on most often before installing or consider contacting to company for an additional bracket.Overall we are very satisfied with the co-pilot. It allows us the flexibility to be more mobile with our kids and provides much more fun for everyone to ride together. We frequently see people intrigued by the product and are stopped often and asked about it. We are quick to recommend it. 09/07/2010
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great for the price I ordered this for my 5 year old so that we can go on family bike rides and he doesn't have to keep up with us. Looked at higher priced ones, but the only difference I notice is that it is heavier than the others (that were twice as much). It folds so that you can store/throw it in the back of your car/suv and is easy to assemble. 05/04/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by VERY MUCH WORTH THE $$$$!! I love it!! We just got it yesterday in the mail for my big 3 1/2 yr old. Pretty simple to assemble! She has excellent balance on it!!! No problems what so ever. I even made her wear her elbow pads and knee pads the first 2 times she rode on it, but low and behold, it's actually pretty darned safe! I'm very pleased with it, and hope this helps anyone who is skeptical :) 06/30/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by quality meets affordability... assembly was a breeze... the flag was flimsy after initial installation. what i did was wrap a thin strip of rubber around the end of the pole before securing it. my 5yo son and I did a 5 mile break in and everything seems to be fine. no squeaky sound or any weird noise. all in all i'm so happy with my purchase... for $69+tax its a steal! 03/14/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by We bought this for our granddaughter who just turned 4. It would be great but you need to have at least a 21 1/2" inseam to be able to reach the pedals with the seat all of the way down. She only has a 15 1/2" in seam. Our 7 year old granddaughter can barely reach it. We are going to have to make some type of an adaption but can't do much or the pedals with drag on the ground. 06/22/2011
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Works Great. I recommend this product.the item comes in a box small enough to fit in most trunks or back seats,I got it home and assembled it within 15 minutes, very simple and all you need is the allen it came with and a phillips screw driver.First the Cons:The back mudflap is flimsy *trash*the chainguard was rubbing the chainyou definately feel the weight of it behind youand the gearing is to where the kids can't reallyhelp THAT much. and my trunk bag barely fitsPro's:ITS CHEAPthis thing meets all expectations my 4 year olddaughter fits on it PERFECT at its lowest settingI had to put the handlebar mount on backwardsand put the seat all the way down but it fits her like a glove and she loves itit is easy to install after you think about itfirst remove your seat stem, install the trailer then reinsert your seat stem. its made of STEEL so you're gonna feel its weight, but its not so heavy you can't do a ten mile run on it if you so desired. it folds up tiny, if you keep your allens you can disassemble it smaller if you prefer.room for growth, I think this thing will work for several years to come, I would guess most 9 year olds could use it.notes:It is heavy, I've pulled kiddie trailers before and never really noticed it that much I think its mostly cuz those are made of aluminum and mostly nylon, this thing is steel and you definitely feel it.it hinders your mobility a lil (duh) I can no longer pop a wheelie over about 6 inches so curbs are now just a tad harder.I barely have clearance for my trunk bag, but it does fit if you have a large trunk bag you may not be able to use it and this at the same time.I have a seat stem with a shock in it, with how the trailer mounts I have to have the stem up about an inch higher than I normally had it, I'm considering going back to a normal style stem, or buying a stem and seat just for this device.I HIGHLY recommend this product for short <10 mile trek's. 04/12/2011
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! These are so fun, so easy to install, and so easy to take on and off your bike. My twins LOVE them!! They are only 3 (box says 4+) and although they can't reach the pedals, they have a blast going for rides. Great value! I shopped around and this is the lowest price you'll find!! 07/02/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Awesome I was very excited to see this as cheap as it was :)My son is scared to make the transfer without training wheels, this concept helps his understand the balance and get over his fear of falling down! It is a great investment and he loves riding with me...couldn't be happier with this product. Easy to assemble :) 07/28/2011
