It will be necessary to anchor the greenhouse because it is very light and will probably fly away if you have windy weather. I had to anchor it with large timbers. And, there will be a gap at the bottom so, you will have to cover this somehow for winter. The anchor pins that come with it are of no use.

The wooden base is not necessary. I would suggest a level area for the frame to sit on and to prevent air from going through any gaps in the winter time.

It must be anchored to a base. The photo shows it anchored to a wood base. It is flimsy. A 70mph wind tore up mine the same evening that I set it up.

You need to be able to hold it down on the ground. There are 4 holes
at the corners that need to be attached to something. If you are
putting it on a concrete base you could bolt to that. We used a 2x6
treated lumber base and it gets it up a little higher and you have to
step over the threshold to get in. Will use cedar mulch to fill the base
about 4-6 inches thick and will keep out bugs and water.

i see there is a wooden base beneath the green house. Is this necessary for the green house to sit properly? I see the ad mentions nothing about it.

It isn't plastic; it's a translucent tarp. By comparison, I would say it is 6-mil.

I'd say it's about 5-6 mil and is reinforced with fiber.

What is the mill thickness of the plastic cover?

Even for a novice like me (64-yr-old female) it was easy to put up. Couldn't put the top pipe sections together without another section coming off (tightening screws would have helped here) so I just used duct tape to hold them together until I got them all up. I am very, very happy with the product.

I got this greenhouse last year!
in TX storng wind & heat this is still in one pice !

I had three people putting this together and took about 45 minutes. All the parts were there, great instructions and super sturdy. We set it up on our deck with a tarp for the base. We hung 4 boston ferns from the top bar inside, so we are sure it won't blow away. My only regret is that I didn't get a bigger one! Now if it keeps all my plants alive this winter, it will have been well worth it. As that is what I spend every year replacing plants.

Super easy to put together!

Happy with this purchase...easy to assemble although the zip ties could be a better quality.  Holding up well against the strong winds.

greenhouse purchase

This greenhouse is very easy to assemble and seems to be made of very sturdy materials. I am very pleased with how nice the greenhouse looks.
It is very spacious for it's size. Overall, I am very

more than expected

I purchased this item in December, as a Christmas present for my husband. It is April now, and since then it has endured through snow, flood waters, and very high winds. My husband is a avid gardener and has enjoyed this so much. I highly recommend this, not only for the durability, but also the price, which was not bad either.

Very Pleased

I am pleasantly surprised with this greenhouse. The metal framing is very tough, the exterior skin material seems like it will hold up well over a long period of time and all of the flaps are constructed well with heavy duty zippers. The additional ventilation (1 door, 2 front windows, 2 bottom side flaps and 1 large rear window) allows for good air circulation for summer use and seals up tightly for winter.

Heavy duty and very sturdy for the price

Very pleased with the quality and easy to install. Creating the base took longer than assembling the greenhouse. Nice heavy plastic. My only issue is the flaps along the sides don't seal shut and when its cold - too much air gets in. I simply wrapped another piece of plastic all the way around the botoom and now it has very few gaps where cold air can get in. We've already had a few frosts here and all the plants are fine. I found a small elec heater that comes on automattically - I have it set to 50 degrees. For the floor, I just put landscape paper then an old outdoor rug - seems to be OK. Eventually, I'll put some stone in there. I really looked around before purchasing and I feel this was a good decision and should last many years.

The little greenhouse

Overall this was an easy put together for one person, but the nuts that were welded on didn't hold real well. The welds were weak and some of the nuts broke off, especially the one right at the doorway.

Easy to build

Used for one season and now the top has split all the way across. It was properly assembled and cared for. Now it is only fit for the recycle bin. I am so very disappointed, not only because I lost $$ on this deal, but now I have no place to store my plants for the winter.
