I bought this waterpik because I'm getting braces and needed it for all the hard to get spots. I haven't even gotten them on yet and I use it every day, because it works so great. My mouth feels so much cleaner. The reservoir seems to hold exactly enough to take your time doing all of your teeth. It has plenty of power, with a knob that goes from 1-10 and I find anything past 4 to be overkill, but I haven't used all the attachments yet so maybe for some of the bigger pieces the higher settings are useful. Only problem was when I first got it I thought I got a defective one, but just make sure you push the reservoir down until it sits flush in the base.

This is great for getting your teeth and gums super clean! I recommend adding 10% mouthwash to the water. (Don't forget to put warm water in it;that adds a lot of comfort.) You'll want to use it daily. I am very happy I got this.

I was a little skeptical at first, not sure what to expect. After visiting my dentist I was told to try using a water pick, since I'm apparently not very good at flossing. I decided to try the Waterpik Ultra Flosser. I found Walmart to have the best price and so I picked one up. I read the directions and got brave enough to turn the machine on, first, lean over the sink, ,start on a low setting, make sure you have the pik in your mouth before turning it on. I have to say I thought I did such a great job in brushing my teeth but I was amazed at all the food particles that came drooling out of my mouth. This little gem works fantastic and makes your mouth feel so clean and your gums feel great. I wish I had tried this a long time ago, I would have had this to give to my kids as they were growing up. I think this product should be mandatory for every household & especially for kids.

    • It sprays a jet of water (adjustable force) between your teeth and below your gums to remove food particles, plaque and bacteria. Ask your dentist.

    • If you use dental floss, that's what this is, except that it uses water instead of a string.

    • It shoots a fine jet of water at the gum line and between the teeth to remove plaque, tartar, food and other nasty things. It will also clean out pockets that some people develop in their gums. This model even comes with an attachment to clean the tongue of oder causing bacterias.

    • A jet of water goes between the teeth and does the same thing string floss does in eliminating the small particles of debris between the teeth.

    • It shoots out a fine jet of pulsating water to clean your teeth. Much the same as a dental hygienist would use.

    • This simple machine uses water pressure to clean between your teeth. It is used along with floss to completely clean placque and food particles that your toothbrush cannot reach.

    • This is a water pick that forces water out in streams to help clean between our teeth, your gum line, and between partials or would be great to get food out of braces.

    • A Water Pik is similar to those little tools Dentists use in your mouth to spray water when you go in for a cleaning. It helps get you to that sought after "Dentist Clean feeling", on a daily basis.

    • It's similar to the thing a hygenist uses when doing a cleaning on your teeth. It's similar to flossing but with water instead. It really does get the stuff out between your teeth.

I buy this so that I can clean for more heath mouth and kill all the bad breath that cause my mouth. Does it do it and whiter teeth also?
    by Rrex 3/4/2011
    • I would ask your Dentist. Even peroxide did'nt help till I went and had dental work done(bad breath) Peroxide with water may help whiten in the reservoir.

    • You can mix mouthwash in

    • It's not going to give you whiter teeth. As to bad breath or mouth odor, that depends on the source of your bad breath. If your bad breath is due to gastro-esophageal problems like acid reflux disease, then absolutely not. If the bad breath is due to general growth on/between teeth or on tongue, then it will probably HELP (NOT eliminate), so long as you floss & brush as well. FYI, this machine does NOT replace flossing!

    • Perhaps if you use a mouthwash instead of water. I just use water since the product's job of flossing your teeth is it's primary objective and it does it well. With water it *does not* kill bad breath and whiten teeth.
