    I have sent Walmart gift cards via email several times and never had an issue until today. I call customer service and was told they had to change the way cards are delivered via email due to incorrect delivery email addresses provided by consumers. The card will now be emailed to the purchaser who will then be able to forward the gift card directly; eliminating incorrect deliveries and regular requests for refunds due to the incorrect delivery. Makes sense, not thrilled with the extra step but it works.

    it did not work because it was suppose to be a egift to send to my daughter by email, it came to me... i dont need a gift to myself...u cant even send it email to someone else and u cant even put, To: or From: on it....

    This was a great way to get the gift cards sent to my employees. Now the sight has changed. Every month I send my employees gift cards all over the US for the great job they have done. What happened?? Why try to fix something that worked fine. Please fix this back the way it was. They enjoy getting these cards and it was a way to send them quick right after they hit the goals for the month. This is terrible... Our company alone buys thousands of egift cards a month but need them sent directly to each employees email address. This way is not allowing me to put in multiple cards and will only email to me.

    • A. Walmart no longer asks for the recipient's email address. It was much easier before when they did; now it is just clunky. But anyway, you put the card in your cart, and click Check Out. The first box will say that an email will be sent to you with instructions. The problem most people have is that the card is showing up with their own name on it. Here is how to remedy that problem. In the second box on the checkout page, it says to enter an address. Your own address will be there. You need to enter the NAME, MAILING address and phone number of the recipient. It does not ask for an email address. Then go on and choose your payment and click Submit Order. Immediately, you will get an email that confirms your order. In some time after that you will receive an email with the gift card. It will be DELIVERED TO YOUR email address-- HOWEVER, the GOOD NEWS is that it will have your recipient's name on it. Then you just merely forward the email to your recipient yourself. Told you it was very clunky!! But I have just done this three times this week, so I do know that it works. One of the gift cards has already been used by the recipient with no problem. :-) Hope this helps! Please, Walmart, if you're reading this, PLEASE go back to the old method. It was much more seamless and professional. This is a very amateurish way to send a gift card. Thanks!
