Console looks very nice. The fit and finish make it look like real wood. A few things things to be aware of though. 1) The actual usable depth is only 13" inside the doors and 13.5" on the shelf. If you have something deeper you may have to leave off the back panel. 2) The usable height of the shelf is 6". 3) There are a LOT of wooden dowel pins to glue in place during assembly.

Once you assemble this TV stand, it is very solid. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, all you need is a screw driver, and it actually looked better than I had expected. It's not just another particle board/cheap piece of furniture; it's handsome and coordinates well with several styles.

This is a sleek looking TV stand my 52" plasma baby looks great sitting on top. It took me 3 hours to complete following the directions to the tee. The only disappointment is the height, the detail said it was 24", it actually measures 22"

We just got this piece and it looks great! It exceeded our expectations! And, it was easy to put together. The site to store pick up worked well! We put our 52 inch tv on it. The space below (behind the doors) has a divider which makes it nice to keep things organized. I would recommend this product.

Great TV Stand for the Price

I was looking for an A/V stand for my gym, so something durable and not too expensive. I located this item on Wal-Mart's website and it seemed just right. I was somewhat skeptical of the quality, given the low price. However, once I received this product I was shocked. This is a quality piece of furniture, that was extremely easy to put together, and seems like it is going to be more than capable of handling gym activity. I'm even thinking about buying this product for my entertainment room; it's that nice. Three words of caution; first, the wood glue provided fell just short of being enough. So if you don't keep wood glue handy, get a small tube before beginning assembly. Second, there is one step in the assembly process that pictures the center divider facing one direction, when in-fact it needs to go the other way. The best way to ensure you have this small piece correctly assembled is to have the black front strip facing toward the front of the cabinet. If you follow the directions the black strip will be toward the back of the cabinet and you will have uncovered wood showing toward the front. If you do not catch this mistake at the proper step, it may be too late to correct without major work. Finally, make sure to measure any equipment that is going on the inside shelf. The top of the unit is plenty wide, but the open inside shelf is too short for most A/V equipment. Otherwise, highly recommend this product.

Is it an actual finish on the boards, or is it just a vinyl similar to contact paper? Does it scratch easily? Thanks.

    • A. It is a vinyl overlay, scratches can be cover with magic markers, brown or black. Stain sticks can also be used.

    • A. So far the finish is pretty robust, but as with most furniture of this type, the boards are actually particle wood with some type of synthetic finish.

    • A. This is a beautiful finish, it is heavy like real wood, looks like real wood and feels like real wood. I think it may be real wood and thus would scratch like real wood (or get water stains if you set a wet glass on the finish). Buy this, it is a "real" piece of furniture.

    • A. It may be a veneer, but looks and feels like wood. I don't believe it would scratch easy, we moved the dvd and satellite boxes around quite a bit and did not mar the finish. It resembles rough sawn lumber, I have medium oak furniture, and it blends very nicely. A little dark, but for what I paid, I am very happy.

i'm looking to purchase an end table that would match this type of wood finish. im finding that many brown finishes are completely different from this one, and it seems as if this is the only brand that has any finish like this. what other wood finish would best match this type of brown?

    • A. I find the finish is somewhat universal. Of course nothing in our living room matches anyway, so to me it looks fine. The color is a mix of dark and light browns thru the simulated wood grain.

    • A. You can mix woods as long as they are in the same color family. Dark wood stains coordinate and blend in a room. You wouldn't want to mix a light wood with a dark or red wood. Likewise, you wouldn't want to mix a high gloss finish with a matt finish. Just keep it in the same color family and enjoy the unique finish of each piece. Hope this helps.

    • A. I have medium oak end tables, this tv stand is a little darker. It resembles rough sawn lumber, but has a nice smooth matte shine on the top. It has a little bit of red to it like a cherry. The picture is pretty accurate.
