I really love this ... It is such fun to use...you walk all over Rythum Island while stepping in time to the music....tons of songs in it....but you unlock them as you go....you also build up the island .....adding trees, benches, plants, buildings.....just tons of stuff....the time goes so fast as you are so busy trying to unlock all these things....I have done it everday for a week now, and have not even begun to scratch the surface.....It keeps track of all your steps and other information....A VERY GOOD thing to buy if you are in to excercising.....there are also other games which I have not gotten into yet.....

This game was better than I thought! I love walking in time with the beat of the songs and how often they change along with being able to step my way to unlocking new songs and items along the way! WONDERFUL workout and a lot of fun too!

I bought this because some of the people on my excercise board were raving about it. They were right to. The walking, to the beat of many popular, and some not as well known songs, provides a good workout that really gets your heart pumping. Some songs are pretty fast paced and they almost make you jog. The game will even let you know at the end how many calories you burned, how many steps you took, and the distance you traveled. The game aspect keeps you engaged as you must search the island for "event capsules" (which are actually numerous and easy to find) that help you create your island by: creating trees, opening new paths, building man-made additions to the island, putting constellations out at night, and even adding a rainbow to the sky. Finding the capsules is easy, but you also have to "buy" them using points you earn by keeping on the beat of the songs. This can be as hard or easy as you want it to be- which makes it an ideal game for multi-age players. Mom, Dad, and the teens can go for a challenge- losing a point for every skipped beat and having to really rack up the points for those big ticket items, while the toddlers and grade schoolers can accrue points without penalties, and pay less for those same items. The game is really customizeable on this aspect. There are a couple of drawbacks to the game. One is that the avatar that you are able to create is very generic, even once you choose your outdfit and colors they all rather look the same. Another is that with 4 capsules to find (per new song) it takes a while to get new music, so even though the songs are upbeat and popular-- they can get a little repetitious. And the "trainers" peppy commentary and suggestions can be occasionally more annoying than helpful. But in my mind the positives far outweigh the negatives, and any game that has me thinking I have exercised 30 minutes, only to discover that I have been at it over an hour, is GREAT!!! And one that can get my couch potato son to exercise is even better!

I am completely addicted to this game!!! This game is additive and fun. As others have stated, you go for 30 minute walk and suddenly - you've been on it for 2 hours, listening to music, building items, playing a "game". It's amazing how fast time flies when you have this. I have to FORCE myself to turn it off in the mornings so I can get ready for work!!! It was a little hard to get into at first, but it was very easy to learn. I use it with the Wii exercise board and it tracks my steps just fine. And, I do take steps, not just raise my heals as some have stated. No problems with the lifting of my feet off the board. So easy to walk your 10000 steps in just 2 hours time and not even realize it!! A hint to anyone purchasing this - go online and look for the Walk it out user manual online. I think it is more informative than the one that comes with the game. I am ready for Komani to make a Walk it out 2!!!! Please!!!!

"Walk It Out" has not gotten a lot of reception by the game critics but it's a lot of fun! I waited until I read the reviews on Amazon before I purchased this game, the only thing I wished was that I had bought it back in January the day it came out!!!! "Walk It Out" has been compared to Animal Crossing and other town building games, but you collect chips by walking and then the chips you collect are used to purchase items. I'll admit, at first I wasn't impressed by the title of "Walk it Out" or the box art, but I feel that Konami really did put A LOT of thought into the actual game. Yes, there is a little bit of room for improvement but I love walking in "Walk It Out" and I didn't think I could be so addicted to such a simple and fun game. If Yes, I can (and do) exercise quite a bit outside in the real world, but I'm a gamer at heart and "Walk It Out" is actually fun: both as a game and as an exercise. There is so much to find and collect in Walk It Out and once you get the hang of game it's really fun. If you think about it: it is hard to walk for 1-2 hours outside and NOT notice that you've walked for that long, but there has been many a day(or night) that I've intended to play Walk It Out for only 15 minutes and then suddenly realize that I had walked for 1-2 hours and had so much FUN doing it!! The music is great and the game keeps me coming back every day. There's over 100 different songs and you can customize your own playlist to listen to the tracks you want to. The graphics may not be Xbox 360 or PS3 graphics but there was a lot of work put into them, the game seems to come alive at different parts of the day, if you play at night the Island looks like it's dusk(or night time) and there are different items available at various times of the day! There are a lot of options in the game, you can change how quickly you have to step in rhythm to the music or you can even make purchasing items on the Island cheaper, or you can even make the game harder, it's really up to you! Also, you have different options when it comes to playing styles, if you like using a DDR mat you can do that, or if you like using the balance board you can do that, or even the standard Wii and nunchuck(in the pocket) routine. I highly recommend at least renting the game and trying it out, but I for one: am actually glad I bought it straight up instead of renting it first. In the 6 days I've had the game, I've loved EVERY MINUTE and I have had some awesome exercise results! In the 8 days I've played Walk It Out I've burned 3423 calories! I've walked 141,165 steps! That is over 37.5 miles!! In only 12.5 hours of playing this game! If I had done 37.8 miles around my neighborhood/city in the past 8 days I would have been bored to death! I love WIO because I'm not bored one minute even though I'm walking(on average) more than 4.7 miles per day with it!

  • A. Yes. I have used this as my only form of exercise for the past two weeks, and I have lost 10 pounds. Granted, I am watching my portion sizes as well, but I am seeing inches lost, and I definitely work up a sweat by the time I finish walking each day. I would put the activity level in this game at the same level as the Leslie Sansone walk-at-home DVDs.

  • A. This game is a low-impact cardio game. This game is not focused on strength training. You march in place for as short or as long as you want to the beat of music. The number of beats per minute varies with the song. The faster songs will elevate a person's heart rate. The game does not provide an intense work out, but does get a person up and moving. The game does require you to think and focus on something other than just the passage of time, which I find helpful for staying motivated when walking/marching for long periods.

  • A. Yes, we use it on the wii fit board and it really works the legs out. Plus if you like to dance you can move your upper body to the music. I am impressed.

  • A. Definitely, it can be as easy or as difficult(mild to moderate jogging) as you want it to be, or make it, but it'll definitely get you walking/jogging. The game is primarily a walking game(so no focus on upper body because you will be spending a lot of time buying/clicking on capsules on the screen) However, people who use the nunchuk to register their steps(in a tight/well-fitted pocket) can use a mini-trampoline/rebounder to make the walking/jogging more advanced(a mini-trampoline is more of a workout than you think it would be.) Other people who have a treadmill or elliptical in the same room as their Wii use those machines with the nunchuk in their pocket(I've not tried this personally, but I have tried the trampoline). Since this is a walking game there aren't really any upper body movements, but I personally just do some shadow boxing or some other upper body movements while walking for a long while to earn chips for big ticket items like the 1,000 piece bridges or 1,000 piece flower fields(keeping my arms busy keeps me from spending my chips too quickly while trying to get the 1,000 required for the item). I'm fairly fit but I am not exactly where I would to be: I've simply added WIO to enhance my gym workouts and hiking etc during the week. I can sweat quite a bit with WIO if I stick to the faster songs(over 150 BPM) I have to jog to stay on beat. I like WIO because I can do 1-2 hours and hardly notice how much "time" I've spent doing it because it's so much fun! I can't say the same for the treadmill, bike or elliptical(even with my mp3 player or the TV playing, I get bored on those machines compared to WIO) I've definitely upped my exercise levels since I got WIO. I think it's helped my performance simply because it's easy for me to do, I'm addicted to it, I completed over 100 miles on it in less than 25 days. If you still aren't sure if it's the type of exercise you are looking for check out some of discussions on Amazon or Facebook. Or even consider renting it to try it out first.

  • A. There are some popular song like "Boom Boom Pow" - Black Eyed Peas, "How Do You Sleep" - Jesse McCartney, but then there are some that seem to be direct from Japan that aren't even in English. Regardless, it's a fun game and it's fun to try to unlock new songs - even if they turn out to be junk!!
