kiki - CS6429 is still available @ vtechphones.com. If you purchase a new base, you will have deregister your current handsets from the original base before registering them to the new base. The tinny sound you describe may be network related and not a problem with the base you currently own.

this phone worked great but the weather may have caused an issue

i need a additional handset and I cant find it on your website. Are other handset compatible to the cs6429-3

I finally found what I was looking for.
.This phone has a clear sound,no background feed back,and is very easy to handle.I was a little disappointed because the message alert tone is too low.I cannot hear it.

I bought the Vtech Cs6429-3 for my parents because I own a Vtech Dect 6.0. I've had great service with mine so I though it was a no brainer to pick up a set of Vtechs for them. After 2 days on the chargers ,2 of the 3 phones were at full charge. The 3rd only charged 1 bar. Followed the trouble guide ,but no luck. The phone would not charge. Packed everything up and returned the phones back to Walmart. Thinking it was just my luck on picking a bad set, I bought another set and took them home. Usually electronics wait a week or so untill the warranty is up before they die, but these phones are JUNK RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!!!!!!!!! After 2 days of charging, 1 battery has not charged up fully.
I can't even fit this stuff back in the same box it came in, but there going back too!!!
This is my very first post on the internet about anything I have ever bought. And no, I don't want to contact customer service. I repair circuit boards for a living. I feel I had to speak up. I have used Vtech phones in the past, but I will not buy anymore Vtech phones.

I bumped my head twice

Ive had this phone system for less than a year. Would never get again. The phones don't stay charged for a day. They could be on a charger for hours and still not charged. I cant call someone and talk for just a few minutes because its about to die. I'm going back to uniden brand. The only reason I bought this was the. 3 phones with answering system. I'm getting an uniden tomorrow.

I bought this piece of junk a few months ago and it worked fine until yesterday....then it just DIED...the handset says its too far from the base when it's sitting on the unit. Whats really odd is that within 12 hours of discontinuing my email updates from VTECH, the darn thing died....I had a guy from Charter out today and he confirmed it. No wonder this piece of junk isn't on the shelves at Wal-Mart any more....I wouldn't recommend this thing to anyone! How does something just DIE like that?

I am returning these phones.  The display is so dark you cannot read who is calling. The sound is very distorted.

1 phone will not hold charge out of the bx.

Can't believe how quickly these phones failed. I am down to one working phone and shopping for a new set. Better believe i'll be looking at their reviews.
