VIZIO High Definition SoundBar, VSB200 4.1 5 601 657
Pleasantly Surprised Must admit that I was skeptical of the reviews on this product, because the two best reviews came from a Walmart employee, and a poster with a name of "SavingwithWalmart".I listened to this soundbar in the Walmart store, and, I was not at all impressed - to the point that I told my wife I was scratching it from my list of possibilities. Then, I remembered that environment/settings can make a difference in both audio and video. So, with the idea that I could return it to Walmart with no penalty, if it wasn't worth the price, I decided I'd try the least expensive option (Visio)before moving on to more expensive sound options.Much to my surprise - the quality of sound of this bar in my home, was excellent!Even my wife, who doesn't care about sound in tv, immediately, said that she really liked it.Certainly, it's not equal to a 5.1 surround system, and probably not equal to a more expensive soundbar. However, if you don't need real surround sound, don't want to have extra speakers, and lots of cables, wires, etc., involved, and don't want to spend a a lot more money, this soundbar is well worth checking out.I do not have a subwoofer attached to mine, and I'm well satisfied with the amount of bass. The amount of available volume is more than my neighbors want to hear I'm sure. LOL..In short - it's a "very significant" improvement over the sound from my Sharp 46" widescreen. The setting that stops the blaring commercials, works really well. Two things to note if you purchase this bar.1. When you first turn it on after it's plugged in, you will have to use the input button on the remote to find the right source to get your sound.2. The remote sensor is on the right end of the bar. That's where you have to aim the remote - not the middle. For $148, imo, it really is quite a bargain. 06/18/2009
Best for the price! I wanted something to replace the speakers on my TV and this sound bar is just the ticket. I have a small living room and the unit produces great sound with out having to turn it all the way up. It's easy to set up and easy to use. I'm very happy. 10/11/2009
Great Product!!! A+++ I bought this about 2 weeks ago, and have nothing but good things to say. Great sound!! I have a 42" TV and it's that exact width. It was very easy to install.Note to buyers; you can buy a separate subwoofer for it but, it has to be an amplified {has it's own power source} subwoofer. Also as far as I know, the remote will work with the Direct TV remote but only for power on and off, but the remote is so small it not a problem to leave it out too.I haven't had the remote problems others talk about on here. This is not surround sound, and they don't tout it as such. It's HD sound.I would put it a notch below surround sound.Rich bass, even without the subwoofer. You WILL be pleasantly surprise....especially with the price!!! Get them now, because when I was there, I got the last one. Store Rep. states they are moving FAST!!! 08/08/2009
Just What I Was Looking For!! This is a great product! Suits my needs to a tee! The setup was easy and with the help of some unique metal brackets called Soundbar Brackets, it is now mounted to the top of my 46in Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV. Really sounds great when playing music videos, and the virtual surround sound feature is a plus when viewing DVD's! I can't speak for others, but, for me...IT'S A WINNER! 01/16/2011
