The directions are vague, however, common sense will be a good guide for you. We put each one together in about 20 minutes. They are very sturdy and look much more expensive. I really shopped around before purchasing them and couldn't find a better price anywhere! 03/13/2010

It seems to be superficial and does not affect the structure.Assembly was easy, but I did have to pre-drill the holes when attaching the seat portion to the chair frame.Overall, very satisfied with the chairs. 03/06/2010
