Valencia CC-K9 (3-in-1) TV Stand Review: Overview:This is an amazing TV stand, with exceptional design, function, and durability. I have never written an online review of any product, even though I have ordered hundreds of things online in all sizes and shapes.Background:I ordered this stand after researching and reviewing about 40 different models online, and carefully thinking about the function and design of the TV stand. Immediately, I liked the fact that this furniture offers multiple options for setting up the TV and surrounding entertainment hardware. In fact, after about two weeks of intensely narrowing down choices, I decided on this TV stand model, and have been incredibly happy ever since. In fact, this TV stand stood out so much from the pack that it even affected my decision to get a 46” LCD instead of a 52”.This TV stand and mounting unit can accommodate up the 52” LCDs, but I wanted the TV’s dimensions to be contained within the horizontal dimensions of the TV stand itself. The 46” LCD is within the horizontal dimensions of the stand, but a 52” TV would extend several inches farther than the TV stand on both sides. This is just an aesthetic choice, since the stand and mount are so well constructed that a 52” TV can be accommodated as long as it meets the weight restrictions.Delivery:As noted in the description, this unit arrived in two boxes. They were two large boxes, relatively heavy, but manageable by myself (adult male, medium build). I wasn’t sure if I wanted to set the TV on the stand or on the elevated swivel mount, so I assembled the table stand part first. Fortunately, the instructions and assembly are outlined in stages which can let you assemble the stand and mount independently.Assembly (Stand):The main stand part of the 3-in-1 unit was assembled by myself in about an hour. Since I’ve never assembled a TV stand before, it took a moment to grasp the instructions and visualize how all the pieces fit together. After that, assembly was straightforward, and all the parts and pieces are marked very clearly. Since the instructions don’t contain any words or sentences, but just diagrams, a little trial-and-error might occur. For example, since the stand is perfectly symmetrical as an oval design, it may be confusing which side is front, and which glass piece fits to which part. When you get to this part of the construction, just think it through and perhaps use a magnifying glass on the diagram to see exactly which side is facing front, back, etc. Then, all the pieces fit together perfectly, and very tightly. Be advised there are no extra screws, washers, pins, or anything, so be sure to keep all the labeled parts well organized as you assemble this. As mentioned, this can be put together by one person in about an hour. If you’ve assembled this before, probably in 30 minutes or less.Once the stand was assembled, I marveled at how nice it looked. The wood color is dark brown/red and the glass is tempered black. All the components are very sturdy and made of quality materials. There were no defects, shoddy workmanship or any blemish on any of the big parts. Overall, the stand is very, very nice. It also provides so much shelf space that it should be able to accommodate just about any hardware configuration. Visually, it might be the best looking furniture in my apartment although it matches nicely with the rest of my living room.Customer Service:The TV placed on the stand was perfect, but then I wanted to watch everything at a slightly elevated angle, approximately at a 10 degree angle from my eye-level. So I began to assemble the swivel mount part of this furniture. The swivel mount is also very well designed, and made of strong steel which is painted black. During this assembly, I was a little puzzled by one aspect of the construction, so I contacted the customer support department for the distributor (ReadySetMount.com). This was right at the time of New Year’s 2009/2010 so I didn’t think there would be much of a response until after January but their customer support responded and help me understand the problem. In short, they resolved my question during the busy holiday time, which I really appreciated since getting furniture and TV set up for events like the Rose Bowl and other New Year’s celebrations was very meaningful. The customer service was very, very helpful and it makes me also very happy to share my experience involving the entire purchase decision with this TV Stand/mount.Assembly (Elevated Swivel Mount):Assembling the elevated swivel mount took about an hour. Again, since this was my first time putting something like this together, it took some time to grasp exactly how all the pieces fit together. However, with the parts laid out and all the pieces clearly labeled, the assembly was also very easy. There is one part at the end where the instructions show two options for placing the mounting brackets on your TV set. Realize that the two options differ based on the size of the screws used to mount the bracket to the TV. The package clearly labels different sets of screws and washers, so realize that not all of the screws and washers included in the package will be used for assembling everything.After making sure all the parts were screwed tightly, I mounted my TV onto the elevated mount with ease. Since my LCD was light enough for me to lift and move short distances, I assembled and mounted the TV single-handedly. I only note this because this was a key consideration before I purchased the furniture – whether I would need a friend to help with any of the assembly, or if I could do it myself on a Saturday afternoon. With this unit, if you can lift your own TV to about shoulder height, I am relatively sure you can assemble and set up the whole thing by yourself.Two things to note about the elevated swivel mount. First, it is awesome! This makes the stand and mount unit really exceptional in elegant design with great function. The mount lets the TV swivel in both directions, much more than the swivel stand on my TV allowed when it was sitting on the table. Also, the mount can tilt the TV 10-15 degrees up or down, which is great if you have a glare on the TV. Fortunately that is not an issue for me, but I like the option. The swivel aspect is great, and is also well constructed and strong, so I have no worries about the TV floating in mid-air. By the way, I left the TV base/stand on the TV and still mounted it on the swivel mount. In other words, at any time, I can dismount the TV and set it back on the glass table top of the stand. Currently I use that space to organize DVDs and CDs, cartridges, etc. The thing I wanted to note here is that this mount can accommodate my LCD while the LCD base stand is still attached. It does not conflict with the swivel in any way as there is plenty of room between my attached TV base stand and he metal of the mount. This is great!Conclusion – All thumbs up!!!I can’t find any complaint about this furniture, and everyone who has seen it thinks it is very high-end and hard to find. When I tell them I ordered it online, had it delivered in under a week, and assembled without any additional physical help in about two hours total time, they are amazed and want to know more about it. So, I am writing this review.In a nutshell, this 3-in-1 stand is the best among all similar design concepts. The oval design is very useful and elegant, and works in almost every possible angle, alcove, or crevice in your room. If you get this, I recommend using the elevated swivel stand to maximize the exceptional design of this furniture.I will also note that ordering from walmart online was very convenient, and delivery was faster than expected. Customer support from the manufacturer/distributor was also exceptional, so this whole product purchase experience gets an 11 out of 10 maximum on my ratings scale. Disappointed my the manufacture It took me a long time to settle on a tv stand. I looked for weeks at different one on different sites. I wanted something that looked nice and made of quality material. This stand is perfect. It is attractive made of quality material. As the previous reviewer wrote that there are no word and me being a female it wasn't difficult to put together until I got to the mount.My concern was the second shelf for the glass to sit on the doles are made of steel that is good with rubber coating. I only received two for the front and the back was still bracket that I didn't find as secure. Nor, did the have rubber coating or something to protect the glass from scratches.I received the stand a week ago today. I have called the manufacture four times to help me or send additional doles to better protect the glass. Also, I have a screw missing the package looked wored like it was sitting for a while and someone pride it open to remove it. The mounting bracket have visible nicks that was touchup with paint. The manufacture is yet to return any of my calls. I have written walmart to inform them of my problem to see if they have any luck contacting this company. I don't want to return the stand for a simple fix. I just want them to return my calls. 07/09/2010
