Before purchasing any of the Go! Go! Smart Wheels sets I called VTech customer service to confirm that all vehicles work with all tracks and sets, and they assured me that the entire line was completely interchangeable. I bought my son the Smart Wheels Train Station and the Smart Wheels Garage for Christmas last year, and he really enjoyed playing with them! Six months later he still played with them enough to invest more money in the set, so for his birthday I bought him the Deluxe Track Set and the Traffic Signal Bridge. I was surprised to find that the new tracks were different and the train does NOT run over the Smart Points on the new track pieces! After closer inspection I noticed the track that came with the train has groves in both sides so the train wheels can get a grip to pull through the Smart Points but all the new track is totally smooth and the train can't get enough traction to get over the Smart Point triggers! My son gets so frustrated when the train gets stuck and I am so frustrated that I called customer service, asked the right questions and got bad information! If I knew then what I know now I would have decided to invest my $110+ in another train set!

Motorized train (the whole essence of the toy) quit working after about a month in a half. We assumed the batteries needed to be replaced. After replacing them, making sure they were inserted the correct way, and even purchasing a new pack after the first attempts all failed, we felt the piece was defective. After several emails back and forth with Vtech customer service, I was told they would be happy to replace if I paid shipping and insurance to ship. While I have no problems sending the train back, I am disappointed, after only a month and a half, I am being asked to send back at my cost. I learned for probably only a couple dollars more I can purchase my own replacement. I hardly feel they are offering any sort of customer service and not willing to stand behind a defective product. Not only do I not recommend this product but I do not recommend any Vtech products...I do not feel they will stand behind their products.

I purchased the v-tech go go smart train wheels for our grandson for Christmas . We were very impressed with the toy and its fun learning features . We like v-tech products because of the learning features they incorporate into there products for young children. We know he will enjoy the gift, as he has the other v-tech toys we have purchased for him. This was my first time ordering online with Walmart, everything went smoothly. The on site pick up @ store was so easy and the staff friendly. I will not hesitate to order this way again. The product pricing was much better than area stores prices, which was my incentive to purchase it from Walmart. A good value for a really nice learning toy. Thank you to Walmart and your friendly staff at the Cromwell store Mrs T.

My grandson usually plays with a toy a few minutes and drops it. This little train keeps him engaged for hours. It seems to be built tough and although my grandson is not yet two, he can assemble the tracks without difficulty. He does need help making a fully joined track. The picture on the box shows vehicles other than a train. This is a little misleading as there is only a train and a cargo car included in the package. This set is made to join to other sets. The orange joining pieces can be confusing and cause the train to derail. We just removed them from the set. Even without them, several configurations for the track are possible.

Does the train have a motor/move by itself? My son is autistic. He loves trains & building sets.. but does not like having to push train around.

    • A. Yes it has a motor but when it gets to the hill to go up and over the bridge the child has to turn a handle to make it go up the hill and once it is at the top it continues on its own.

    • A. my son has autism too and he loved it. The only hang up is you have to turn the conveyor belt yourself to make the train go up. Otherwise, the train runs by itself with batteries

    • A. My 2 year old Grandson still needs help with this toy. Setting it up, cranking the bridge. Putting it back together after he steps on it. But he loves it.

    • A. I think most toys for children that age should be interacted with you until the child gets the concept. Once a child understands a toy they will have better use of it.

    • A. I think a 16 month old is too young. Even though my 1 year old loves to watch the train, she just tears it up. This set would be better for an older toddler 2.5 -3 years old.
