Rated 5 out of 5 by bmh129 Great Quality, even though it's off-brand This monitor is a great monitor for the price, and it meets all my expectations. The picture is great. The max resolution is 1920x1080, which is the same as your 1080p HDTV, but not quite as high as the 1920x1200 resolution of your expensive 24" HP monitor you use at work--you won't notice. The different resolution reflects the slightly different aspect ratio.Like most modern flat panels today, the pixels are small enough to eliminate the "screen door effect." There are two inputs--analog VGA and digital HDMI. Instead of a 120Vac power cable, the monitor is powered by a DC power source #provided#. This is a nice change from the clunky AC power cable we've become used to. There is also an analog audio line out jack on the back, which I haven't tested, yet. Presumably, it is sourced by the HDMI input.My experience has been good, but since I'm not familiar with V7, I recommend doing what I did and purchase the Wal-Mart extended warranty for $15. Unlike most purchases at Wal-Mart, you can't just take this one back to customer service if it breaks--unless you have the extended warranty. With the warranty, Wal-Mart promises to take care of all the work of replacing or repairing your broken equipment, should it be necessary. I have had an off-brand HDTV break before, and believe me, it's not fun dealing with the manufacturer's warranty--Wal-Mart won't help you there. Get the store warranty. Your total cost will still be lower than the competition bare equipment no-warranty price. 09/14/2012
