I needed a long monitor cable. This 10-foot cable does the job. I am happy with the length and the quality of the image on my monitor.

    • VGA cables do NOT carry audio. If you're connecting to an HDTV, you'll need cables to run from your laptop's audio (headphone) out to the tv. Also, not all HDTV's have VGA inputs. If you're going to connect from VGA to an HDMI input on the tv, you'll need a converter. One i've found to work really well is the Etekcity RT3072 adapter (got it on Amazon).

    • Yes, provided the HDTV and notebook both have a female vga port. I have 32" sceptre that has the vga cable, and I have it hooked to my desktop as well as some other things that i switch between.

    • Yes. That is what I was after as well. Video only. You will need a separate cable for audio. I purchased an adapting cable for $4.

    • Yes. That is what I use it for. You can hook this up as long as your HDTV has the connection for it. Works great! No audio.

    • No, video only. My low end HD TV has lots of plug in options in the back and there is a provision for audio only. I purchased a $4 adapter at Big Lots that completes the task. Plugs from headphone jack on PC to RCA plugs on TV. (Two plugs on TV for audio which are needed for left and right to get stereo sound so it is a "Y" shape.)
