Also, the finish on the top shelf was rough and not smooth. It was like it needed another five sandings.Does no company use "Quality Control" anymore? 05/29/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by cook3514 A strange mix of high and low quality This cart is made of high quality components, some of which have been assembled poorly. The wood is beautiful, clear hardwood. The finish on everything except the top is smooth and even - the top is rough, I will probably sand and apply a good marine varnish. The slats on the two shelves are poorly stapled and glued. One was completely off when we unpacked the box, others are loose. The top is securely assembled with screws. Assembly was very simple. From opening the box to completely assembled took less than 15 minutes. Then, of course, we had to re-glue the slats. Overall, not bad for $100, but it wouldn't have taken them much more effort to attach the slats more securely. 02/22/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Strawberry76 Great value if it was put together correctly! I ordered this cart after searching for weeks for something for my small kitchen. This seemed perfect and seemed like a great value for a solid wood cart. It would have taken me only an hour or so to assemble it if the pre-assembled pieces had been put together properly. Instead, I worked on it for probably 4 hours trying to make it work. There were slats on the shelves that were nailed/glued on about 2 inches off where they should have been so when the cart was almost fully assembled I couldn't get those pieces in place. I finally disassembled it and returned it which was a big pain. Beware. 08/20/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by NILAgirl Great cart. It's nice and sturdy. After much comparison shopping I purchased this cart because of the size, the price, and because its made of solid wood. WalMart offers Free Shipping to your local store, making this an even better value. It was easy to assemble and looks great. The only problem is the slide-out shelf.There isn't enough support for the shelf and any weight put upon it would cause it to fall. If you need the slide-out shelf you will have to make some sort of support for it.
