very hard I like a firm bed so based I reviews I thought I'd be happy with this. It was beyond firm. It's very, very hard. There is almost no give at all. I found it the same as sleeping on a few quilts on the floor. I bought it as an alternative to air mattresses that don't last long. I move a lot so I wanted something portable that I can move w/o help. I didn't have high expectations but had to return this. It's also very short. I'm 5'2" & my feet hang off the end. I know this is generally meant for kids but I wouldn't even have a kid sleep on it because it's so hard. If it was half the price it may be worth it but definitely not worth almost $100 with tax. 12/12/2011
Horrible. I bought this for my grandson to sleep on when he spends the night. It looks good on the outside but it's like sitting on a rock. Instead of some type of mattress foam, it's filled with the plastic type of hard foam that protects TV's during shipping. My carpeted floor was more comfortable to stretch out on. I'm taking it back tomorrow. 11/10/2011
Hard as a rock! Talk about firm! I've slept on softer ground camping in winter! Am going to buy an 'egg-crate' style topper for when my unfortunate children are sick! We bought them to use as reading chairs under their loft beds and then, when they are sick and 'sleep down' (so I can check on them more easily) they would be able to sleep in 'comfort'... Not exactly. Luckily they are 10yrs old and 'comfort' is a relative term. As an adult I would not sleep on it but hey, what do you expect for the $$$? Got what I paid for I suppose and luckily don't have to sleep on it myself. BTW, other than it being hard, the twins think that they are cool and awesome and that is what matters most as far as we are concerned. 11/03/2011
Too hard to sleep on. Bought 2 of these for my grandsons to sleep on based on the fact that my daughter had one years ago that numerous friends and family used. The one my daughter had was filled with a soft foam and very comfortable. These were filled with some type of filler that was very hard, and had absolutely no cushion. My grandsons, husband and daughter all tried and all said they were harder than the floor. I absolutely would not recommend these to anyone. Mine were returned within 2 days of receiving them.If they would change the filler back to foam, they could be great. As they are, not worth the money they cost. 10/09/2011
