    Better than expected!

I bought these to go with the Elise bunk bed set, in soft white! Which I LOVE! I did not buy the mattresses with the bed, I bought two of the twin quilted mattresses in Tan. I was extremely sceptical because of the horrible reviews. I am a small woman of 105 pounds and I believe I could have slept on them. They are like futon mattresses, like I had read.. They have awful reviews, but you get what you pay for and for $50 with free shipping, I can't complain!!! They won't last years, but until I can afford good ones, they are perfect. They are comfortable for what they are and I was pleasantly surprised! * I did buy a peice of ply board for $7 and cut it in half and placed it underneath the mattress for added support.. Works perfect and the mattresses will last longer!

It is very soft, not foam, but more like stuffing. Our previous mattress was a foam mattress for my daughter so this one is so much softer and she loves it. She is 9. I am not sure that an adult would be comfortable on a regular basis, though. Would be OK for a guest bed.

Originally we purchased a very expensive twin mattress for my son's bunk bed. It was too thick and did not adhere to the safety regulations of the bed...and my son disliked it as it was too firm. I purchased this mattress online. It arrived to my home in 2 days. It fits perfectly in the bunk leaving plenty of safety for the siderails. My son loves it.

Looking for a mattress for a platform bed that DOES NOT have a wood frame like the bunk bed mattresses I've seen before! If this one does can you suggest another mattress that does not in about the same price range?
    by an anonymous customer 7/22/2011
    • No it is made of natural cotton, no wood!

    • No it doesn't, it's just the mattress itself.

    • No - no foundation. I would not recommend this mattress. I ended up returning it. Very thin and got thinner very quickly.

    • As my own review said, it is a futon style cotton poofy mattress that I used on a cheap fold down couch for a studio apartment. doubled up on this couch it is very comfortable to sleep on and acts as a very good couch as well. I used a mattress pad on it and fitted sheet overall. With a quilt and pillows on it I must say it looks pretty nice. Obviously it folds so no to the wood.

    • This mattress does not have a wood frame. It is soft and flexible like a futon mattress and works well for us on a bunk bed with a solid platform. I don't think it would work as well on slats.

    • It comes folded in a big box, there is no wood frame in this mattress. It's basicly like a big covered piece of foam. Hope this helps.

    • This does not have a wooden foundation. In fact it is delivered in a smaller box and the mattress is folded in thirds. Soft flexible mattress.

Reviews seem to say it's pretty flimsy. I'm sleeping on about 3 comforters stuffed into a twin fitted sheet. If it's more comfortable than that or easily made more comfortable by keeping the comforters on top I'd like to know.
    by ucme4me 10/10/2011
    • It is much better than sleeping on the floor

    • Your stuffed sheet is probably as good as this thing. Didn't even use it---just threw it still in the box in storage. Not worth opening.

    • For the price I would say it is better then sleeping on the floor. We have it in our spare bedroom so don't sleep on it daily but no one has ever complained.

    • This mattress is very flimsy, but if you place what you are using now on top of it, it would be great. Probably feel like a pillowtop mattress.

    • YOu dont have to have a frame it is a little thick, how ever for a adult i would buy a frame to put under it just because of an adult body weight. I bought it for a childs bunk bed so no big deal. but if you are already sleeping on the floor than this would be a step up.

    • not on floor at all. the fiber fill inside will compress to nothing and you will be on the hard floor. even with a frame and boxspring this mattress is terrible

    • You could put it on the floor if you want. It is solid but only 6 inches thick. So just be aware that it is not as thick as a regular mattress.
