Great price, great bed, tough to assemble!

The finished bed is hip, cool looking, and sturdy. Important fact--with a normal mattress a teen or adult can sit up straight on the lower bunk without touching their head on the upper bunk. The overall height of the funished bunkbed is higher than others in this price range--important for older kids/teens/adults. Assembly was as bad as everyone warned--vague directions--pay CLOSE attention to the pictured part, and be sure you have the right one. Sounds simple but there are many 'mirror image' pieces. It took us two days to finish the bed assembly (one adult, one teenager) working about a total of 8 hours. The plastic inserts for the support posts are A NIGHTMARE TO INSTALL. That is the only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars, and the reason it took so long to finish. Otherwise this is a great bed--all the parts were included and the finished product was perfect for our teenage son.

Great Bed.

I bought this bed for my 2 boys and it has been great. The top bunk is very hard to make, but most bunk beds are. If you are expecting something simple to make up, this may not be the bed for you as the top is harder to get to than the bottom. One plus is that it is light enough to move away from the wall to get at it from all sides which makes it easier, but it still took some time to get it made. Assembly was fairly easy with the exception of the snaps that hold the bars in place, but other than that assembly didnt take too long and the bed is VERY sturdy. I love how the rails on the top bunk are much higher than standard bunk beds so I have no fear of my boys rolling out of bed while they are sleeping. OVERALL, it met our expectations, was affordable and is not "cheap" in appearance or sturdiness.

The bunk bed arrived without a hitch, but the assembly was a lot of work. I had a particularly hard time with the plastic inserts that must be inserted at either ends of the rods supporting the beds. Once the bed was assembled, my boys love it. The ladder steps are narrow and uncomfortable to climb so we're going to get some foam coverings to make it a little less painful on the feet. The only other issue is that any movement in either top or bottom bunk is felt by the other. It's only a problem when one of my boys is sick and tossing and turning while the other is trying to sleep.

This bed is very sturdy. My child is around 150 lbs and uses the top bunk. I slept in the bottom bunk comfortably (180 lbs). There was no shaking of the bed even when my daughter climbed up and down. The rails are about 14" high. We bought a 6" mattress to be safe but could've gotten a thicker one. We have a box spring and 6" mattress on the bottom but we can still sit upright under the bunk. Bars under the mattresses are about 3" apart and seem very solid. Plastic clips run down middle of them to prevent shifting but they don't seem necessary. Rungs on ladder could've been thicker or made flat to make climbing more comfortable. All pieces were in the box and fit well, but instructions were a bit confusing.

I found this product to be both stylish and sturdy. This bed is very good for someone who is creating a guest room, a lounge, or a bedroom. I think this bed would be best for someone who is looking to create a bedroom thats kinda like a lounge.

My two-year-old loves his new "big-boy" bed. I love that the bed is low to the ground. This gives adults plenty of head room when they sit on the bottom bunk. The bed is very sturdy, but did take a few hours to assemble.

i needed a bed asap, so i looked online to to find a bed for reasonable price. i saw this one and i liked it. i was leaning more for another one but my brother liked this black one so my hands were tied. If you do not like assembling things and you get confused easily, i suggest you pay some1 to do all of the assembling 4 you, because it's too much 4 one person to handle.Trust me, it started with me,my mom, and my brother-it ended with me and my mom. we finished constructing the bed around 6 or 7 the next morning. It was so hard we had things put on the wrong place so we had to remove them and put them in the right place. some of the screws where missing at the end but it was not a problem we had some in our tool box. the problem was a long pole that didn't wan to fit in the bed, so my mom had to get a hammer and smash it into place. THat WORked. At the end i Fell in LOVE With My Bed, especially since i put my blood and sweat into constructing it. It dose skweek if the person on the top bunk moves allot. So i don't suggest to put them up there.

I recently got this bed and am very impressed with it. I put it together myself because I was too anxious to wait for my husband to get home. It DID take a while to put together but not difficult at all! The worst part were the little clips that everyone had complained about but once you get into a rhythym you just kind of flow along and it's no big deal. They look great, they are sturdy and my daughter LOVES them. Overall this was a fabulous purchase and for the price, I feel like I found gold!

So far so good this bed has very sturdy bars and is very easy to build. I love having a bigger matress underneath instead of two twins. I have slept in a bunk bed once before buying this one and it is much bigger from the bottom matress to the top bunk and the matress I am using is 8" thick.

Overall I really like this product. The only problem I had with it was during the initial 'building phase'. It was really hard to put those snaps in place for some reason. (Step 4) Instead I found that using a flat-head screwdriver along with it helps. How? Well when you get to the part that says to snap those little white things in place, only put it in on one side, then push the other side in with a flat-head screwdriver. That helped my fingers a lot!!! Other than that pretty easy to put together. Oh! Make sure you watch the labels when you start putting the sides together.(Step 1) At first I didnt think it mattered too much, but on step 2 youll notice it points out 'manufacturer label'. Be sure to look at the picture and youll notice its facing the bottom on the left side support. Happy building!

It's very sturdy, The only problem that I had was the fact that you have to build every piece and I mean every piece it took me 4 1/2 hours to do. But once it was finished I felt it was worth it.

You have to put EVERYTHING together and the instructions were confusing for me. It took me about 8-10 hrs to assemble it. I had to take down parts at least four times that I had on backwards. The plastic tabs consists of 100 pieces and they took me nearly four hours alone because they are hard to snap in and were a nightmare on my fingers...very sore next day. I ended up using a mallet after placing the tab in one side first (hint).Overall, the bed is handsome and sturdy and large. My eight year old son loves it! The box was way too heavy to take to my son's room upstairs and so we took the parts upstairs making several trips. All the pieces were there for the excessive assembly required.

It LOOKS good is about all the good I can say about it. It takes one man 4+ hours to put together. And it takes TWO people to make it up. The top bunk is esp difficult to change sheets and dress with a tuck in quilt. The top bunk bars are very high and must be installed to go all the way around.

This was actually a really good deal for the money. The bed is sturdy and I never hear it squeak. Yes, the directions are kind of hard to follow, but it was very easy for us to put together. My only complaint is that I ordered a black color and I received a white one. I can't blame Walmart because the box itself was also marked black. We decided it would be too much hassle to return and wait for a new one to be sent so we are overall happy with the quality of the bed. Girls got used to the white again. Lol.

  • A. The bottom bed rests on metal slats, about 50 or so of them. It is well supported. I sometimes lay on it with both of my boys while reading to them, and the combined weight is probably about 350 lbs for the three of us. For weight ratings I would contact the manufacturer directly though.
